Are you guys talking about the rapist who now goes by Allen Turner to avoid his reputation as the rapist Brock Turner?

You keep using that word. It isn’t smuggling, it is forgetting a round of ammo in a bag. Your view on this is extreme. There is nuance in the world..

This is the dumbest take. Most crimes require an element of intent. Using the same bag you use to take shooting or hunting is not intent to smuggle weapons. The quantities of the items found demonstrate no ill intent.

Just because you personally disagree with the 100 million gun owners doesn’t make this a moderate take. Imprisoning people for years because of a loose round in luggage is moronic politically and a waste of tax money.

I’m pretty libertarian but I’ve also seen the spray paint section of Home Depot so no thanks

A police officer recently got scared by a falling acorn thinking it was a gunshot. He then mag dumped dozens of rounds into his own squad car thinking it was the man he had in custody (handcuffed, searched for weapons already, and trapped inside).

Luckily he struck with police precision. Meaning he missed every single shot and the guy was unharmed physically. Now he quit his job due to public ridicule.

This meme jokes by extending the conspiracy theories around Taylor swift to include dropping the acorn.

If you’re willing to commit outright fraud, lots of crime is easy. But also the penalty for ever being discovered can be severe.

They also didn’t deny it happened. They would check logs before paying out.

A score is 20 so 24 hostages is not “scores”.

Given the fact that communities with the same or similar names exist on multiple instances, it would be nice to have an indication of which one(s) I’m already subscribed to when they appear in search results.

Unfortunately I think most Lemmy early adopters are highly correlated to people who have their personal finances in order.

Where is the per state data? I’m interested

It turns out climate change is bad for business. Better shut them up because the oil lobbyists say we’ll be fine.

Not the asshole. 20 and 17 are old enough to handle adult situations and information. If you didn’t tell them, they’d be left wondering.

And they’d probably never stop asking.

And wonder who the new man is whose around moms place…

she’s a black woman? Seems like that’s enough for a lot of people.
