I'll take the parking lot of Crappy Tire and a 17mm wrench over a Canadian quick lube place. Shoddy work and shady upsells is the nature of that kind of business.

Changing your own oil isn't an option for everyone, but don't risk an engine at these places either. It's not even cheaper than grabbing your own oil and filter retail and telling an independent shop to do it.

Yoga and athletics-wear company, though that's broader now. They made it big on stretchy form fitting things made in sweatshops, just as the yoga industry began to boom.

I'm not sure about that headline, ABC. How about, "arrested for risking killing hundreds of people with COVID/disease, in order to make YouTube content". This way you can't be smug and cute about a genuine risk, or the application of law by foreigners.

Hundreds of people have already died in CECOT. I wouldn't be surprised if they put out a hit on him via back channels to gang members in the prison. Hell, they can legally do it now as an official act.

Would it help if you told them you think Zuck is creepy? People often have a vague creeped out feeling about Facebook, Meta, and tracking. "I was messaging about (insert) here and started seeing ads for it on all my devices" might sell it and get them on your side.

Beyond that it's the pain point of them installing another app to communicate with likely only you, so leaning on things they already have might work. SMS/MMS may be a viable alternative, or maybe Delta Chat if they'd be willing to share an email address.

It's hard to deal with the saturation levels the big chat apps have so I wouldn't rule out having to keep WhatsApp, unfortunately.

The legal expert in the article fails to note that Palestine falls under ICC jurisdiction, hence the warrant for crimes committed within it. Disappointing that there's no comment from the author refuting the expert. Lying by omission.

Was there a particular set of years when it wasn't those things?

No prizes for guessing the outcome
