It’s the same “innovativeness” as Starfield; it’s not pushing the boundaries of game design or anything but it’s a tried and tested strategy that clearly lots of people enjoy and it makes them a lot of money.

It’s not profitable? How? Rockstar is estimated to earn $8 billion from GTA VI.. that seems lucrative to me?

Big Kotlin fan.

Similar reasons to the commenter that talked about using a world class runtime, but the JVM is tested and works.

And now I can use Kotlin to make cross platform applications, while still utilizing the Java knowledge that I unfortunately possess? Perfect!

I read this as “Ottawa sees 50-75 min of rain in 90 minutes” and thought it was an onion article

Could you elaborate on your video chat solution? That sounds super cool!

Do you manually have to select the cameras, or do you have some sort of tracking system that switches the cameras as you move throughout your residence?

It’s kinda funny; everywhere I saw this posted had the same initial comments, “what about OSM?” Which I think is natural and good skepticism.

Hopefully, they keep true to their word instead of creating the same problem.

So they actually are contributing / complementing OSM:

Overture is a data-centric map project, not a community of individual map editors. Therefore, Overture is intended to be complementary to OSM. We combine OSM with other sources to produce new open map data sets. Overture data will be available for use by the OpenStreetMap community under compatible open data licenses. Overture members are encouraged to contribute to OSM directly.

From the FAQs on their site.

Super cool, there should be more competition between Map providers like Apple/Google/OpenStreetMaps.

Why couldn’t this project have just been things being added to OSM?

Yes absolutely, again just make sure to thoroughly clean your veggies before consumption.

Also if the plant is healthy and has lots of leaves, you can remove the damaged / leaves with netting to decrease the mites repopulation rate.

Spider Mites!!

You can use something like Neem Oil, make sure to wash your cucumber before eating. Or you can just rinse the plant a few times a week making sure to wipe all the mites off.

The number of steps to sign up should be greater than or equal to the number of steps required to cancel an account. Any more hoops involved in the cancelation process are specifically designed to get users not to cancel, which is predatory.

Will the FTC support the consumers, or a cabal of capitalist businesses? I think I already know the answer, unfortunately…

I thought the same thing, media outlets love adding fuel to a generational fight that doesn’t accurately portray the situation. I don’t know anyone that chooses their friends based off of income.

I don’t see the issue in using a controller, the US Navy does the same

https://www.theverge.com/2018/3/18/17136808/us-navy-uss-colorado-xbox-controller

I do think it’s ironic that they used a Logitech controller instead of an Xbox controller, but the reasoning is probably similar to the US Navy’s
