Erh, she's going with Musk, isn't she? We were this close, this close to have her fuck off for good... alas...

I mean... they do kinda have a point on the last part. I'm no programmer or coder. I can't code for shit. I don't know a lot about development. And even I have the feeling that Rust people, they're kinda like NixOS people a while back, they never shut the fuck up about it. :3

They're definitely enthusiastic, I'll give them that. But so many projects are sold solely on the fact that they are made with Rust, even though it means absolutely nothing to most users.

I remember when System76 announced that they were making a new desktop environment and the only thing they basically said about it back then was that it was made with Rust and it felt like my corner of the internet lost their mind about it like they had announced the second coming of Christ or something.

I think it's Nintendo being Nintendo and in general, a company being a company. The tariffs will be used as an excuse to raise the prices but even if they'd go away, the prices won't come down. Because why would they? They got away with it. Might as well continue.

We see this trick over and over again. Usually it's inflation. Oh, we need to raise our prices because of inflation and then inflation goes down but the prices don't.

Still stand with ICE, now? Who stands with you?

Do they, now? All of my experiences with the Reddit search bar were a waste of time, this search bar is an absolute piece of trash. It's completely useless. I have always gotten immensely superior result searching Reddit from an outside search engine than using the built-in one. It's that bad. So, good luck to them, I guess...

Can't wait to see Lunduke and the likes making dumbass articles and videos screeching about DEI destroying open source and so on. I wonder if we will get a Librecloud fork or whatever, too.... <. <

This is yet another example of someone being exhausted by the free and open source software community and specifically the Linux part of that community. At one point, we're gonna need to take a long look at our communities and wonder why the fuck is it that this keeps happening? The amount of shit that maintainers have to deal with constantly is a massive issue. We have a cultural problem, one that we seemingly refuse to acknowledge.

Recently, a project called Kapitano got abandoned for pretty much the same reasons. Some kernel maintainers left. There was the whole Asahi Linux debacle. With Asahi Lina, notably, basically quitting Linux development altogether from what I understand at this point.

We keep seeing burnouts, people giving up in frustration, getting harassed and so on. This is not okay. How many times does it need to happen before we finally decide that enough is enough?
