You can tuck on that yum. Go read about Tim’s and their backtracking on their egg sourcing (they had originally agreed to ensure eggs were ethically sourced- places like A&W use ethical eggs, but they renamed in the deal again and again, despite them being able to afford the ethical eggs- again this is very very summarized).

They are not an ethical company at all. Plus they are under Burger King parent company which contribute to genocide. Big yuck. Yuck all over that yum. 👏

To be frank, if she spent more time focused on :

  1. Worrying about the bodies and mental health of women in Sudan, Ukraine, DRC and Palestine ,
  2. The body autonomy of women and trans kids being threatened around the world,
  3. Stopping partnerships with problematic brands that are anti body autonomy and misogynistic
  4. Recognizing her extreme privilege to have tattooed eyebrows, fake long blonde hair and procedures as upkeep (on top of two homes, $$$, white privilege) ,

Then maybe she’d stop caring about her vessel! Almost ALL of my friends bodies (who have had kids or not) look exactly like this at 40+. We are NOT out here focusing on our bodies, but we are actively calling out people like her who give us 40+ crowd a bad rep of being vapid consumers stuck in egotistical high school mentality. Also, my friends who work out, compete and train for things have super kickass physical bodies but they are OLDER! Nobody looks the same as they age. And maybe I just have a better family or friends who don’t talk about our bodies, and she’s stuck with an unsupportive spouse, family and friends who let her make this her “thing” but they really do need to tell her she’s fine, it’s a body, it’s nothing worth singling out, and that she could be more and know her worth without a focus on her vessel.

Careful - people who joined lemmy 2 days ago with only comments on the Polly pocket stuff will call you out on this 😂😂😂😂

Dannah has said (in previous videos) that kids shouldn’t be featured online , that you should never post where you are or what your kids names are, when you’re on vacation or when you’re coming back, no names on clothing, no telling strangers your name. Maybe Nana is trying to be passive aggressive about her daughter to improve her grandkids safety? Nobody can be so stupid as to not notice that everything about what is posted with the kids is a stupid and careless post that ignores their safety.

I am pretty pissed off (after looking at the instanavigation at her profile) that people are commenting how it’s unaffordable and she replies with payment plan stuff. During an economic crisis, where she’s making money doing nothing but pushing off vulnerable people with (likely) little (to no) financial literacy to buy stuff with her codes or her collab stuff, she’s coming out to look pretty villainous. Her assuming that people are poor because is they don’t know how to budget their money or that they should be making payment plans is so friggin dangerous and classist. In general people in Canada are poor, because they do not have generational wealth, they are immigrants, and have been robbed of opportunities that should be given to them but are not because of the racism in our country, or because they refused to do things that debase themselves, and take advantage of others, in order to make money.

She could have replied to people saying it’s too pricey with “I am doing a free giveaway if you want to take your chances with this” and even had more traffic to her page by forcing people to comment some stupid word on a post.

I also noticed that her husband replied back about a comment and basically told someone to stand in the middle of the highway? What is going on with this? I’m so glad I’m not following her anymore.

I haven’t gone to the S&T page in ages, but has she said any proceeds from sales are going to any type of LGBTQIA2S charity since she’s said she’s part of the community? This is pride month after all. It is a missed opportunity. Of course, she has friends that she wants to send stuff to, but she literally could have chosen only people in the LGBTQIA2S or Indigenous community (Indigenous History month too) for her PR.

Hey:). I noticed you also think (from comments on other stuff on Lemmy) that you agree that Taylor Swift jets around too much- so just so you know, a lot of us are on this community to call this specific person out for her weekly flights to “events” (Such as a movie screening in New York, which she flew to, when there was an event that was held within an hour of her home the next day). She peddles fast fashion and consumes and promotes products and companies that have been on BDS lists since October (that people have asked her not to promote). She doesn’t speak out for LGBTQIA2S rights, or about genocide. She also goes to the Apple events every year, and refuses to speak out about the mining in Congo for all of her various devices. Some of us hitched on the petty wagon as a way to find a group who are more willing to call out her (and other celebs) for destroying the planet in the name of profit , and for refusing to call our genocide and other horrible things because it would mess up her IG aesthetic.

I mean, I came to this page originally because I was really angry that influencers were not speaking out against atrocities in the world, but I do feel that this is digital manipulation to sell crap is problematic- she IS PRETTY here as herself (And well people might say, well, she’s had her eyebrows tattooed her lips done, makeup and unnatural hair color, BUT that is true for a lot of people, and those things don’t make people look so unlike themselves that they’re on recognizable, so I think it’s safe to say that it’s not body altering to the extreme.). And there’s nothing wrong with her un-edited (well… Even Getty images have some editing done to them and there’s also camera lenses that will make each photo look better but I mean, it’s not unrealistic). Remarkable face/look as herself? No- but that’s what her whole platform is supposed to be. She looks like a person. Audiences should expect this version of this person.

I cry ALL the time when I watch movies but we have an unwritten family rule with no tech during family time so it’s never been on captured on camera.

Body shaming is awful. I have not seen anyone in here (of substance) saying anything negative about her actual body - just bad use of filters and photoshopping. Getting upset for calling that out would be like me upset with people mad that a sticker is covering their face on a magazine. The covering of the real image is frustrating for people who helped her build her platform by following, boosting, for years.

I honestly feel like the general consensus with this group is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with her body! Or ANY body. She is a very pretty tall woman, who is average sized (I’d say smaller than average) and really doesn’t face the scrutiny that plus sized, disabled, transgender or non-traditionally pretty people face. None of us (at least that I Know of) are on public accounts with millions of followers walking on runways of companies that have historically represented everything wrong with patriarchal society (sexism, ageism, racism, ableism) thinking that they can change it overnight. There are so many more important things to focus on in the world than what people think of your body. You would think being called out for being inactive about LGBTQIA2S plus rights, inactive in calling out genocide, (and more) would be what upsets people, but they are worried about how the world perceived their physical appearance?

There are horrible trolls out there, who will make comments for the sake of commenting. I’m not a fan on people here who will say negative things about her actual luxe, because that’s just a really crappy thing to do. But when people are saying hey, this is what you actually look like, and this is what you’re showing the world, and we’re calling you out on it, and you get mad when people call you out on it, that’s not trolling that’s people asking to actually be represented with an authentic representative. here is nothing wrong with people wearing bikinis, or being their authentic selves, and in fact that’s why I originally followed her. Turn comments off on Photos is probably one of the healthiest things people can do to prevent reading negative things.

I’ll add that during PRIDE month, though, perhaps a better option would be to use the opportunity of feeling criticized for being traditionally pretty but not perfect ( by sh*tty ageist, sexist standards) to instead examine those facing constant body shaming : the trans community !

I highly recommend that everyone go follow some transgender models accounts, and to celebrate Juneteenth coming up, go seek our Black creators and influencers, and real body positive accounts.

Now it’s pretty awful to gaslight someone, and no one can get inside her head, so she is obviously feeling hurt that not every comment about her runway has been positive, and that not every review about the swimsuits have been positive. Nobody can know what’s going on inside her head, and given the amount of time that she spends online curating her account this is a large part of her focus, and I hope she takes the steps necessary to step back and stop reading comments or blocking comments but instead just turn comments off for a while, or using the platform DURING PRIDE to amplify non-stop some other things. Just a thought or two.

I think it’s just a little scary for anyone who will win because it basically makes it so that everyone who follows TBP (over 2 million) knows where the contest winners will be and that won’t be home for those days. Not safe :(.I mean there are scary people out there, and knowing the address and everything? Knowing what it looks like AND when they’ll be there? Very very unsafe practices. Hopefully it’s to somebody who has a private account and doesn’t post their family online so that they can be safe. I personally feel like this is a great brand strategy, because there are several followers who will rent it just to do social media content, and of course, there will be businesses that will be able to use it and it’s another income for their family. It really does suck when people are scrimping and saving to see that people can afford second properties that then become income properties but that’s just the way of the world and hopefully we can call out things like this and the redistribution of wealth a little more often. But I really hope they don’t announce who won and what days they took the cottage until after it’s over to keep everybody safe. So if there is an a friend of the family, or someone who reports back to her about these snarks, maybe mention that because nobody needs to or deserves to be doxxed on vacation. Also, with random people from the app coming in to say things that might upset others, remember use your block feature. It’s what we’ve all being doing to celebs and it’s a great feature.

I came over to snarks because I’m appalled by white women with millions of followers doing nothing to affect change in the world.Seeing people spend so much money daily when Canadians are actively boycotting JoeFrsh, Zhrs , Cstco due to either robbing Canadians of the right to survive or from their participation in funding gnocide is heartbreaking. There were some comments at the beginning, and one of the posts about people being suspicious of new users, and I am a longtime lurker of Reddit (but new to this) as I was waiting for people to say something about all of them being so vapid in the light of actual bad things happening in the world. While I do not, and I’ve never felt comfortable commenting about peoples bodies, because body autonomy is so important, I do feel that there is a space for me here to voice my concern about influencers being downright ignorant when tragedies are happening. It’s in such poor taste, for these influencers to constantly be traveling and showing off all of their products, and then possibly may be linking ways that WE can donate? It’s so infuriating. I know I’ve heard the argument of “what can influencers do” but if they make millions on affiliate links, they have influence. They can and should step up and think of their influence.
