Sue these places up to the last penny. Fuck them.

The Lemmy structure isn't really visible from Mastodon, and communities shows up as groups in Mastodon, but yeah you can see Lemmy's content on the Fediverse, same as on kbin :)

That was my initial suggestion and IMO the change wouldn't be the PR nightmare that it currently is. It would have been a fair middle ground: you don't make it financially devastating for the 3PA devs, the Premium users don't get ads so that would be fair that 3PA don't get shown ads through the API and Reddit gets financially compensated for it.

At this point I kinda lost faith in Reddit. I don't expect them to honor whatever they say, so I won't be subscribing anymore.

The only thing it lacks IMO are custom items types but it's on the roadmap.

What irks me is when game developers ties the physics engine to the framerate. We all know this will cause issues down the road, could we just.. not?

At least the alternatives come with functional and decent mobile websites.

IMO the way to go is to slowly transition, and avoid systems, hardware and softwares that depends on the cloud as much as possible. If you can, try to stick to one open standard and don't deviate unless you have absolutely no choice.

You should be able to disconnect the Internet and control everything locally on your home wireless network. If you can't, then you don't own it.

Sure, you can make some automation rely on some weather services (OpenWeatherMap), but you could go one step further and deploy your own weather station on your property (ie: attached to the shed, etc). That way even if the Internet goes out, you can still automate based on local data.
