Nothing. And they are testing the water to see how much they can do without judges. So when they start standing outside polling booths they won’t get any government pushback.

They are saying that “getting out of hand” is goi g to be any amount of resistance. From the people all the way to the governor. Trump has every intention of deploying troops to control the local government. He may call it Martial Law, he may call it the Insurrection Act, he may call it Freedom Force for all I care. The point is he WILL DO IT and he’ll do it before the midterms.

Stop hoping this will all go away. No one is coming to save you. Resist more now or you won’t be able to later.

Evidently, he hit an “Accept” button in March of 2021 and again in March of 2024, confirming that he would allow Toyota to track him, record data from his car, and then share that data with others.”

Sorry bud, you clicked the button.

I didn’t have martial law on my calendar until October.

Apparently people in the media.

But also, I’m pretty surprised how many Americans can’t explain what’s going on, even on a basic level.

Ask an American: if Trump decides to make an executive decision to incinerate people in his immigration detention camps, and federal judges say no, but he says, “I don’t answer to you,” then who is going to actually stop him? The good quality people of America who have already let him get this far? Those people?!

ICE is him doing whatever he wants. And when ICE becomes powerful enough, he will take the country by force. Which will be super easy and no one will oppose him beyond a picket sign.

As usual the ~1/3 are totally on board for being an asshole.

No going back from that

[-] jim@lemmy.org 32 points 2 months ago

The reason is that no one will do anything about it. The legal system is dead, the politicians are only in it for themselves, and the people are wimps.

If that makes you mad AT ME, maybe you should check your priorities.
