don't forgot signal processing. Complex number theory is used a lot when it comes down to Fourier transforms of discrete or continuous functions.

but yea the naming convention of "imaginary numbers" is pretty bad, we did the same thing for negative numbers (we called it imaginary) when people couldn't comprehend of a negative quantity.

negative numbers are defined from a conservative system, basically a gain/loss relationship: if I have 2 apples and I give away 1 to a friend, I have 1 apple left, that loss -- that apple I gave to a friend -- is the negative quantity. For imaginary numbers, we don't really have a way to comprehend an imaginary quantity; what does it mean that I have sqrt(-1) apples.

whether it's good or bad publicity, its still publicity. Companies strive for publicity, if anything defacating on it just adds monetary value.

there's always going to be some individual who finds the advertisement appealing or just looks up the website of the advertisement

my point is whether it is fatigued or it stopped working as a result of a large enough electrical impedance. You would have replaced the motherboard either way because of 10 other motherboard/component failures. in which case, buy a new laptop.

thinkpads are rapidly depreciative. They approximately depreciate linearly compared to a theoretically and practically non-depreciative product. The longer they are used (or just held in stock), the cheaper they become. I've found used thinkpads that are worth the same amount for same spec'd framework motherboards. until integrated circuits become cheaper your just purchasing a more expensive thinkpad that's easier to understand for the user.

I mean, sure, but there needs to be a port the framework modules connect to. the framework uses the same, soldiered down, USB-C connection for the adapters to connect to. So the same issue arises as with a thinkpad and every other laptop.

motherboards generally limit the amount of voltage that you can get from the power supply, generally that's 20V. if that component is broken or fully degraded, your best bet is to buy another laptop.

that said, try updating the BIOS if it hasn't been updated recently. It sounds like this is a low-level controller issue then an actual hardware issue.

just go used on ebay, and if you prefer to do a project, buy a "broken" laptop in some area, and you can save 30% from retail cost. I bought an Asus zephyrus g14 (2023) for $500 because the n-key didn't work, once after updating the bios I had a perfectly functional $1000 to $1500 laptop (if I wanted to resell).

your young self was right. the inventors of pagerank are pretty fucking cool, they also made an entire book on it, technology back then wasn't just smoke and mirrors if you understood linear algebra. Main note: they were employees of google.

I've been thinking about AI in the workspace recently, these companies are implementing AI into everything despite our comments to remove it. that got me thinking, the US is currently in an economic bubble on an empty promise that AI will someday be relevant. It clearly isn't benefiting society as of late, so they encourage workspaces to use it and to continue hoisting the stock market by it's propaganda (that it is relevant).

Because workspaces know the US is in deep shit right now, and so you know what's worse than delivering shitty software, an economic crash.

don't put this on yourself, preserve the shitty code reviews while the US goes through an identity crisis. Investors will inevitably come to the realization that it isn't sustainable.

well I could give you a solution, generally with x86_64 architecture they use a lot more wattage than macbooks, m-chip SOC's (system-on-chip) utilize about 30W of energy whereas just a modern x86_64 CPU utilize 15W. which means you have a 15W overhead for your GPU and memory generally speaking.

So the entire reason your getting less battery life is OS required applications for it to function, and you. So if you minimize the amount of wattage (ideally building a linux system from scratch) you can optimize it to consume less resources.

I did this with my personal laptop, installed arch and mangoWM, didn't even bother with a display manager or network manager (still use iwctl). on idle it uses about 600 MB, and I've beaten the m1. my point is not to compare or benchmark the macbook, but to just show you that you can maximize battery life with a little tinkering. So long as you are comfortable doing it.

I have used pop_os and cosmic DE it should be noted that is a beta version of pop_is, which means there are plenty of bugs, which means there are still a lot of optimizations. the fact you could get 12 hour battery is kinda surprising especially with a nvidia GPU.
