The laptop was $4700. I'm doing machine learning stuff, I needed the gpu. If the laptop make me 10% faster, they make their money back pretty quickly.at least that's the reason they gave me when they agreed.

Yeah. I was forced to use Mac too. Rectangle didn't really help much. After a few months I convinced them to buy me a System76. I needed tiling.

I've got PopOs on my personal (framework) and work (System76) laptop. It's been super stable. Specially if you don't mess around with different PPAs.

I think it already has vim motions. But I wouldn't know because there is no Linux build.

I use bob. It's a version manager for Neovim.

I did install it on my laptop and it went fine. On my PC it keeps nagging me, but it also fails to install it. So, I'm the opposite of you now. I really want to install this so the notification goes away, but it can't be installed.

They haven't created the file chooser portals yet. But I saw a comment from mmstick a few months ago on reddit that he said it will support it. I mean it's a simple basic- feature, gnome could've had it if they cared.

The DE is not reliant on Gtk, it uses Iced, which is fully written in Rust. And the Gtk file picker also has thumbnails now.
