Following notetaking journey of Robert Lender I found out the recently he stress tested Joplin by inserting entire Bible: text 4.281.085 characters long

This led me to wonder, what other challenges or stress tests do users put their note-taking apps through before fully committing to them?

How do you know your chosen app can handle your unique needs and demands?

To those who came here just to shill obsidian for some reason (drop me a dm! I also wanna get paid for my comments!) and say "it's critical to have my notes in local files":

Once user reaches few thousands of notes, non-db based software (Obsidian) will slow down to the point of being unusable. There's no workaround to this, since the bottleneck is storage speed

It's part of the reason but the central issue is far more serious -- the value of TP sheet exceeded the price of original bill ๐Ÿ˜ณ. Clearly it's a measure to combat inflation and unauthorized money printing. After the policy, common folk have to resort to sawing bills together just to scrap by

The answer why Joplin actually shouldn't rely on filesystem as its source of truth is twofold: Search and scalability

Joplin can handle hundreds of thousands of notes and the search is pretty much instant. Relying on filesystem would defeat both of these features
