Never heard of that in German. It's just marshmallows with a generic German accent instead. But it's cool to learn something new. Which region says that, OP?

So, have you all made a list of designers and stalls you wanna check out ? Any games that stood out to you ? Anyone volunteering or considering it ? Tips and tricks to share ?

I have a copy of mage wars arena that I love quite a bit. However I struggle to get it on the table. Because it's a 2p game, I have to rely on my partner being interested in playing it. Till now, I've had no success. Just to be clear, my partner is a boardgame nut.

Do you all experience the same ? If yes, how do you satiefy the mage wars arena itch ? Any other games that's similar in vibe but is easier to get on the table ?

I am "exponentially" better at nothing in comparison to others. There's always this one kid, who will do whatever I do, far better than I can ever do.

Queer German woc here. And in tech too ! :D Yes, I do find it conservative. I live in Berlin. For all the hate that non Berliners like to lay on Berlin, it's an accepting vibrant place. And if you are vegan, you'll be spoilt for dining options. Vietnamese is crazy good here. And, concerts, there are multiple shows for different genres practically everyday. And several of them at sort of low-key underground places with their own charm. Berlin has its pitfalls but I don't underestimate the peace of not being stared at constantly for just living my life. Oh, and racism in rural areas: If you ain't white, enjoy some extra stares even when grocery shopping. Living outside the ring zone will give you the relatively quiet life you want. Rent is not cheap though. Cheaper than Munich though. But the rental crisis here is no joke either. There are some fun hacker and maker spaces here in Berlin: xhain and cbase for example that could be interesting for you. One thing I do live about Munich: if you are a hiker / mountain climber, that place is excellent. So many mountains and trails are nearby !!

Would you be able to afford remote workcation kinda thing ? You can test out the cities and see how you vibe with it.

A woman. I'm interested too... It's really tiring keeping track of it on an analog Calendar.

If you can't find anything, I suggest you make her a barebones one or get her to use something like etar. It's all local.

I am reading 'attention is not all you need' https://arxiv.org/abs/2103.03404

I had read this paper in the past but felt the need to refresh my memory and look at self attention with mildly critical lens. Afaik, this paper talks about attention networks without surrounding structures like MLP, skip connections etc and its behaviour.

I'd love to know what others are reading, why they think it's awesome (or not). In general, get an exposure to other sub genres of ML. Most of the papers I read are in the computer vision domain cause of work so I'd appreciate reading more about others.

So...

  1. Are you all interested in such a post ?
  2. If yes, which day of the week ?

Don't know if it's called messing with it but installed GTA and pretty much played that any chance I got. Also learnt that "sound" is just an additional aspect of a game I can get by without

Potatoes. I can make it into whatever I want and it has never disappointed me to date.

Light: silver and gold

Medium: Dune Imperium

Heavy: mage knight

Favourite: Dune Imperium or mage knight

Most played: I have a rotation system that explicitly forces me into picking new games each week.

That's an impressive list !

Personally, I haven't noticed much because most of my "famous" games are secondhand, old prints. Like my Puerto Rico has brown workers. But, it's great that they are changing bit by bit. Hobestly, I stopped playing Puerto Rico for it's colonialist roots.

I'd be interested to know if Santa Maria had new edits. That game literally uses "Happiness Points" as victory points and sends conquistadors around to new lands. 😅

Or Istanbul. I'm waiting to see if there'll be women featured in the markets. At the moment, it's all dudes.
