No, altered states of mind don't stop our own thoughts. In fact, I would argue that a conditioned response is more like an inhibition. As in, I believe getting drunk reduces the likelihood you'll use a conditioned response, not increase it.

Oh, so you deserve to use other people's data for free, but Musk doesn't? Fuck off with that one, buddy.

Pretty sure they now have qualified immunity (and then some) anywhere within like 100 miles of any border or point of entry. Specifically included permission to detain anybody, citizen or not, without any paperwork. At least, best I can remember. It was one of many truly disgusting supreme court rulings in my life.

Edit: corrected the word "detain"

"National security" has always been a euphemism for anything that threatened the status of the American oligarchy.

Lucky for you, you'll never experience erasure. Because you'll never matter.

Right? Like, seriously, we all know somebody is just butthurt because their stock options tanked.

Oh, wait, I'm sorry! That was very unpatriotic of me, wasn't it? I mean, we all know that winning an election guarantees being heavily rewarded with insider trading, right? It's not like they're there to represent constituents or anything; I mean, doesn't everyone know we're a republic, not a democracy?!

Sigh...

Not as well known remix of Big Yellow Taxi, and one of my favorites!

This is probably not what you wanna hear, but when the battery gets low, the current gets weaker. If the current gets too weak, the scale becomes more and more inaccurate. Like, wildly so. In other words, the alternative is to lie to you. Badly.

In movies when there's a huge explosion in space, there's always this ring that comes out from the explosion. No!

In space the blast wave would be spherical: it only looks like a 2d ring when observed from a telescope many many light years away, since the telescope can only pick up the outside edge of the blast.

Edit: fixed auto-incorrect

Umm, no. Just...yeah, no.

The main problem with this theory is that Microsoft is absolutely abysmal at user end security, and they always have been. Frankly, they do not understand the issue.

But, more to the point, the whole TPM/secure boot stuff is a compromise; originally (I think this was about the time of Vista), they partnered with OEMs to have them include a DRM chip that made it literally impossible to install any non-windows OS on your laptop. They've managed to still get an implementation of TPM that makes switching your OS too confusing/difficult for the average user.

Anyway, bottom line is they only care about money, and they neither care or even understand the security needs of the end user.

Personally, I'm very bitter about the completely awful effects of Reagan's tenure. Literally turned the office into a Hollywood act; you know damn well he wasn't calling the shots. He was there to draw people's attention.

"This strike is preventing my company from having a future"

Umm. Yes. Yes it is. That's the entire point you complete idiot.

I live in an area that is well known for low cost of living. And you're wrong. Rent is still egregiously high compared to wages. The problem doesn't just magically disappear when you're not looking. Sheesh
