@robocall

More than welcome to come to Costa Rica! As far as you are always aware of your surroundings you should be fine, Monteverde, La Fortuna, Cahuita, Tamarindo, Manuel Antonio, Savegre, Poas Volcano are some of the places I'd recommend to you

@MagneticFusion agreed with other posters, anything that is not nickname_oddnumers@something.whatever is a significant improvement, and, added value, custom vanity domain makes it even better, go for it!

@fitobugger2017 @tebessa fully recommended Ayutthaya, impressive place, I can't even fathom that place during the cusp of the Siam civilization, as ruins they are impressive!!!

@ruud @WhoRoger I started to follow lemmy.world from mastodon pretty much at the same time it was launched when lemmy.ml became overwhelmed with loads of users, happy to be here

@fox I read this article moments before posting the message, https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/5/23750003/apple-vision-pro-hands-on-the-best-headset-demo-ever sounds very enthusiastic but I concur with you, we'll have to see how real life scenarios will work on the device

@finickydesert no doubt about it!
The same cost of a high end PC, even a Mac!

Hopefully this makes other vendors to start competing more agressively and technology breakthroughs happen more rapidly... And eventually more accessible prices

I've not seen a lot of posts about the Apple Vision Pro demo unveiled today, what are your thoughts?

@smallerdemon @nutomic it really puts things into perspective not being fed ads constantly, I stopped using Twitter since March and I definitely notice a relief...

Same thing with the algorithms 'suggesting' content: I prefer to browse the content by myself

@dl007 Marlin, RepRap, PrusaSlicer: a vast part of the 3D print ecosystem has seen a huge leap given all the open source projects it is quite impressive to compare the current state vs where it was a few years ago

@exterstellar @Eufalconimorph this is exactly the same conundrum with Mastodon, all the technical mumbo jumbo confuses users, simpler words and a quick start experience is everything to really gain traction and maintain engagement during the few first days and obviously over time.... Federation, Activity pub, instances should be Directory, plain and simple

@sotimely @arthur i really despise those fake results appearing more frequently on top of some searches, for instance, if I lookup a word for its definition, I expect wikidictionary or Merriam Webster or something along those lines, but now, there is a bunch of crappy websites Reverso, Linguee being promoted to the first results... This is just an example of many...
