One of the churches still has some original buildings from around 1740. Old for the us, not so old for Europe.

All politics aside, one of those scenarios in today’s America is objectively fucking weird. I see no double standard.

Given the Snowden revelations, what an unfortunate choice of names.

It should be interesting to see the effect of virtually zero ads from republicans as compared to the deluge of them the democrats are going to be able to pay for.

There's probably a word for it in German or Swedish. I bet it's long and hard to pronounce, maybe with a non-English pronunciation symbol.

These absolute dipshits still seem confused about the purpose here. The issue has been decided, this is all just to determine damages. There’s nothing to be ‘won’ here but reduced damages, and antagonizing the guy who decides how much they’re going to be is what I think they would call a novel strategy.

I started reading about Lemmy about ten minutes after reading this the first time. I can’t support that kind of stupid

Thanks! It still feels weird, I had my account for a long time and have a fair amount of karma, but the site has been going to shit for a while and enough is enough. This feels like the very early web or fidonet and I’m stoked to be here.

Hopefully this will spread quickly to the rest of CT.

This is actually the reason I'm here on Lemmy now. I love John Oliver but with all the other dark subreddits it was a bit much, and already had been looking into it. Led to Lemmy by too much sexy John Oliver.

It all happening in a span of months I think is sheer dumb luck from an entertainment point of view, but deep down the cause seems to me to be the expectation of continuous growth of profits on the part of a product free business model.
