This made me imagine Dracula running off giggling like a kid. We need another version where it’s the vampire, wolf man and the mirror and the vampire is stirring the pot.

Playing the games I payed for on hardware that can actually run them. Or just whatever hardware I want.

Less competency porn and more strapping a warp core to a photon torpedo in an attempt to make a black hole 😂 I’d still binge it

Or ask him how he’s doing. Trying to catch him out instead of helping him won’t solve anything.

It’s wild how you get: gun buyback programs = bad. Rather than: corrupt corporations need watchdogs.

I know some software engineers like that. Some of it is knowing that the companies that make iot devices don’t give a crap about security. Some of it is plain ol paranoia. Mechanical door locks can be picked does that mean you invest in guard dogs? Crime is a thing but so is misanthropy. I think we should take reasonable precautions but believe that there are more good ppl than bad.

Would have been better if his response was “ah shit”

According to ahem Legends this was Obi-Wan. They sent Obi-Wan to a farming planet and was essentially booted out because no master would take him. From the book, Star Wars Jedi Apprentice: The Rising Force.

Trump astroturfing? I’m shocked. Shocked! Well, not that shocked.

Probably, “Good news everyone”. Although my favorite is, “To shreds you say,” need to work that in more.

Reading this, and remembering the context of the source material, my thoughts deviated to our present day problems. I can’t help but ask myself, “how can humans hate each other and commit the atrocities we do to other ppl?” Especially for totally pointless shit like skin color or what they would like to be called ffs. I had a thought that those ppl are presented with the struggle of life and misplace their angst at the prospect of the daily challenge of self improvement. They don’t hate ppl for the little things, not really, they just don’t know how to use their inner conflict productively.

I love Star Trek for stirring these thoughts. Thank you for your posts Stamets. Peace and long life 🖖🏻
