Can you not order from places like astrovials? And I totally relate to your fear of the government

fun fact: mapy means “maps” in Czech. This software is created by seznam, Czech email provider and search engine (seznam.cz). Czechs default to this software (with seznam meaning “a list”). In the past I used to dislike it, but now, with me liking non US software, I find it as a great competitor to Google and other US based companies

Oh so you use chatgpt (or open source models) via them? Are there privacy guarantees and what about uncensored models. We are spiraling into times where asking who owns that big piece of land next to Canada might be highly controversial

I would love to do that, but am scared of my house getting flooded/catching fire/getting tornado-ed/multitude of other things. Also, the electricity sometimes doesn’t work, especially now in winter and I need 100% uptime for remote data access

Not everyone can run a 300B model on their own. Although, self hosting an OSS webui that talks to the API instead of opening their client (chatgpt.com) has proved viable

Pipewire and alsa are completely different things. Pipewire uses pulse/jack which then use alsa, or am I missing something?

I too use Migadu and had no issues so far. The client I use the most is ThunderBird, but it doesn’t matter which is used.

Although ThunderBird is not on iOS, got any recommendations for a FLOSS client on that platform?

Asahi linux does this, you run a script and it installs. No USB needed. That’s on apple silicon hardware though.
