Hi guys. This is not going to be a long post and I will briefly explain why I didn’t like Lemmy and going straight back to Reddit.

  1. Lemmy is not a likable name.
  2. There are so much socialists/communists around, including Lemmy’s founders. Even the ‘subreddits’ called communities.
  3. Every app I tried is buggy.
  4. Lemmy world usually experiences connection problems.
  5. Content is not likable enough. I’m reading Reddit to relax, laugh and chill. Lemmy can’t provide that yet. Memes here are generally low effort.

That’s all and thanks anyway! Catch y’all later!

Looks like a nice app, thanks for this! I am curreny using Medito because it is open source but I might try this as well.

Even though not e2e, standard chat messages are still encrypted in their servers. There will always be more private ways to communicate if you are into that about that but for a regular user like myself and many others, Telegram offers much more than you could ask, and is not affiliated with big tech.

Telegram apps are open source, syncs great and accessible from literally everywhere, has great customizability, sends 2 gb files without breaking a sweat, has awesome channels, has bots that is pretty useful... need more reasons?

I used it for an hour and immediately ran into issues that cripple the daily usage. It is a good project though with great themes, I hope it continues.

It is not irrelevant. It increases dopamine, which is highly addictive.
