From watching the video, he's a great and talented science communicator and a decent man (depending on if the divorce trial was mutually fabricated or real).

But he's a mid scientist that doesn't really deserve to have his work compared to Einstein and Newton like he often is.

He also made up a bunch of macho cool stories about himself that's like Rick Sanchez mixed with an "Alpha Male", and much like both it infected young guys for years to come.

Also bongos.

Diogenes would just say "prove it".

So just allow Hitler to take over europe and make an ethnostate through mass exodus?

If you're talking about the nukes, I agree, they were unnecessary as Axis Japan was already on the decline.

But to argue the entire war was preventable by just displacing jewish people is naive and borders on antisemitic.

There might've been ways to prevent the war from starting, like not destroying Germany's economy as a scapegoat for WW1 would have done a lot.

But after the Nazis siezed power there's nothing you could do to diplomacy the Nazis into being peaceful.

That's part of it but it's not that we don't know how, it's that google search is ruined now.

Paid advertisements floating to the top, search engine optimization completely ruining any form of categorization, a deluge of spam websites that pump out irrelevant articles full of keywords (ironically now using GPT to make more articles).

If you want to actually get real people talking you have to append "reddit" to the end. But now Reddit is also becoming shitty for search.

Nowadays people realize if all you get from google search is ai and social media, then why not skip the middle man? Hence people using ai and even Tiktok in place of Google.

I personally use Claude to ask for niche questions and it actually gets to the point answering what I'm asking. (I double check using the terms it gives me to read more on Wikipedia and ect.)

Ah I understand, sorry for being blunt but there's a lot of people acting in bad faith when they question victim's actions in abusive situations.

Rule of thumb is once abuse is involved, don't assume people will react rationally, you may accidentally say something insensitive.

I feel this would work in theory, but in practice the path of least resistance for a political party wouldn't be to appeal to young voters and teach policy. It would be to crank up the indoctrination machine and encourage parents to do so too.

I'm sure some families would teach their children how the world works, but most would just not change; or they'd indoctrinate and abuse their kids to supporting their political party (even harder than before).

I likely would but my computer's from 2016 with no upgrades, so I'm on the cusp of building a new one from scratch.

After I do that though the old one's becoming a linux server for sure.

Edit: Hmm, everyone telling me about their massive performance boosts is making me consider pulling the trigger and migrating my current computer.

Once Google Maps directed me through the scenic route to work. Turns out there was a massive crash on the highway.

Not only would I have been late I would also have to survive traffic hell.

It also tells you where speed traps are ahead of time. I've always wondered how the cops feel about Google snitching on them like that.

Oh yeah, Jezza seems great, from what I know he actively left the Mormon faith and was ostracized by most his family. He uses this experience to be a more empathetic and better person.

All the more sad when Shad tries to claim he's just as good an artist and Jezza doesn't have the heart to call him out on it.

I imagine it's because the attributes that IQ measure could be the same as we use to measure success.

Effectively if your test is based on the skills needed for STEM, and the STEM fields have jobs with high pay and respect, then you're likely to be considered "successful". But the same person could be awful at communication, politics, the arts, and just be ignorant at large to how the world works. They may even be hyper specialized to their field but lack the flexibility in their intelligence to understand other STEM fields (I hear physicists are guilty of this).

Another, simpler answer, could just be that already wealthy people have better access to stable education, so they were already successful in many ways.

Culture victory is almost impossible without mods. Even if you get past how cryptic it is, other civs basically have free reign to stall you if they focus at all on culture.

Funny thing is though, I got a culture victory as Gilgamesh... because I nuked Greece. I was going for war victory so it was really funny to launch a nuke at the greek capital then suddenly jump to the culture victory cutscene.

I thought you were being too cynical because plenty of plants evolved this technique but then I realized because of AI I have absolutely no idea if they're real or not, unless I spend time that I don't have on researching it.
