At 20, I thought there was a future as a professional partier. Sounds like you have your head on straight. Keep up the good work!!

Should have added the remote schedule. Two days in office, three remote. No device monitoring. Round trip commute 70 minutes.

I'm a contradiction. I'm no more unhappy than I am happy. Pay isn't the best, but the certainty and creature comforts make it tolerable.

This is more of where I'm leaning, but then I think I'm wasting my potential, without having any idea where to even exhibit potential.

I'm referred to as a "generalist" at work. I'm told that's a good thing.

West Virginia-Lite. About 2 hours outside of DC. Homes around here range from dilapidated trailers to McMansions. A cornucopia of ugh.

You make $65,000 (USD 🤢) in a dead end career doing nothing but showing up sometimes. Guaranteed employment without change in intensity or salary until retirement in 15 years at age 62. You receive 3 weeks paid vacation, reasonably priced medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k matched at 2.5%, and virtually unlimited sick days as long as you don't call out too often (>3x month). You are given 6 college credits per semester to use at the local university. You're currently working on a PhD.

You live comfortably and have 1 year's salary saved. Zero dependents.

Do you ride it out, or do you seek a career change before it's too late.

I know, infinite unknown variables, but what would you do regardless?

I've painstakingly spent the past four years reprogramming myself to apply less effort. As a perfectionist (ahem... obsessive), it has been especially difficult to lower my expectations of myself. I suppose suffering through this self imposed dead career existence has actually worked; I was rewarded with essentially my work's top award last year, a year where I did literally nothing .

Make it make sense. Cuz none of does. I was raised to be Saturday morning cartoon good, when all along, it's the shit humans who find success.

I don't recall Hannibal Lector favoring children, so...

Fuckin' Mall of America on our bucket list as well. There's like two hotels on site, and I belive they're building a Waterpark next door.

I have so many Graves to piss on, my entire retirement plan will involve extensive domestic travel.

Right there with you. Maryland and WV's finest flower here (we have surprisingly decent bud around here).

Fortune comes in threes; this despicable fuckface, Mitch (theoretically dead for at least a decade if not just recently). Fingers crossed for #3.

Gasper Nali - A Bale Ndikuwuzeni

Not just my favorite foreign language song, but also a top 10.

Not foreign language (per se for an English speaker), but somewhat also ironically on my top 10 list is Brushy One String - Chicken in the Corn.

Literally visualizing a stop sign. Works almost every time. When it doesn't work though, whew boy.

Impress those above your immediate supervisor, and forget about your colleagues opinion of you. As long as the higher ups are happy with me and my performance, I get paid regardless
