The first leg should be short and intrastate. The first step is building any high speed rail at all.

The most important thing is to keep building. Once you stop the knowledge is gone.

It says fluoride levels of 2-4mg/L are correlated in a reduction of IQ. But technically the WHO has long since recommended a maximum of 1.5mg/L due to a risk of fluorosis which is a comparatively minor concern, though it's hard to find information about what levels are considered safe beyond "recommendations". Either way many places have higher than 2mg/L of fluoride in the tap water (due to natural content).

No idea. But you should learn how to use Linux anyway, it's great.

A government can only go against lobbyist interests (and especially American interests) if they have the opposition on-side. Labor, to this day, has a long history of being couped and they've learned cowardice as a result.

Whitlam, Rudd, Fyles, Palaszczuk.

The suggestion that there's no excuse not to take a gamble and try again really undersells how bad the LNP is for this country. A decade of Labor would do far more good than properly taxing the mining companies.

I know a lot of terminally online people like to say both sides are the same, and on the headline policies a lot of the time they are, but if you pay attention to the fine details you'll see that the coalition are SO much worse.

What is this obsession with HECS debt. We're not America, our student debt system is extremely reasonable and of basically no concern. The only reason it ever causes problems is because our housing market is an absolute nightmare but that's true for everyone HECS debt or not.

He did not view Israel as a foreign government

Totally reasonable I guess. Israel owns America, and America owns us. Wild to think that's okay though even if it is technically reasonable.

We collectively need far fewer people to have driver's licenses in this country. Being part of the minority that can't drive is harder when that minority is smaller and so less resourced. Although in some ways, with fewer people who can't drive competition for jobs that don't need a driver's license may be lighter.

I'll take every opportunity I can to say this, but we all need to take note of what happened when America overthrew the monarchy. A single system of power leaves us vulnerable to populism, and enables the politicization of the courts.

Sure, privatize the railroads. That going well is the norm, not the exception. /s

Be careful of the summer sun.

The sun isn't always a fixed distance from earth. It's closest in January, which is winter in America but in Australia that's summer. So they should be ready for hot summers with a high risk of skin cancer.

There's probably more to worry about in the tropics (invasive species like kane toads and fire ants especially) but I don't live in the tropics so I'll leave that to someone else.

Apparently some people did, confronted the AEC staff about it, and were told to "just number 1-6".
