A consumption strike is still a strike, and honestly could be more effective than a traditional strike.
The US economy is essentially completely reliant on consumption at this point, it's the place where we have the most leverage.
It's also very easy for an authoritarian regime that is inbound by law to retaliate against traditional strikers. It's much harder to force us to consume.
It also doesn't have to be zero consumption, by loca, but used, use cash, barter, and trade.

You should be scared but try not to feel hopeless that won't help anyone. I'm honestly shocked at how little people have been freaking out. Especially the news media, I don't see how a free press survives a second Trump administration. That's what really concerns me the seeming apathy.
I'm hoping that come November the election will go well, and we won't have to worry about it as much. (As well as possible given the choices)
My family and I are going to be overseas when the transition happens and if we might not return depending on what happens. We're going to be visiting family in a country where my spouse qualifies for citizenship ship so I feek like that's in our favor.
If shit goes south and it was just me, I would probably stay but I've got kids to worry about and I won't feel bad for a second about keeping them safe.

As an adult, innovative gameplay and/or mechanics interest me way more than graphics. I'll take Fez or Yoku's Island Express over graphical fidelity any day of the week. To a certain extent high quality graphics just becomes a measure of how much electricity and money you are willing to throw at a game and that's just not interesting to me. Length, one way or the other, is largely irrelevant to me as long as the game is satisfying. The relatively short length of the original Portal made that game more impactful imo. A game that's too long can often wear out it's welcome.
