I want the actual reviews so I have at least some chance of figuring out if the reviewer is a bot, a shill, a customer, or is reviewing the UPS guy instead of the product.
Shots fired
I have mixed feelings about this
On one hand, Daryl Davis is a hero, and his method actually works to de-radicalize people. I prefer using this method when I encounter bigots irl.
On the other hand, allowing bigoted speech in your online platform has the potential to drive away normal folks and turn your platform into the echo-chamber where bigotry flourishes that you mentioned. This is basically what happened to Voat.
I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall fight to the death to defend your right to say it.
I agree with this, but it's beside the point. This isn't a public space like a street corner, it's a managed public/private space like a bar, where the bouncer will kick you out for abusing other patrons.
Mr Struk ... actively pursued a 'pro-Russian position' in the last week by 'communicating with the Russian Federation
Actively supporting an invading force during war isn't "having a different opinion," it's treason.
It can force those who disagree with defederating to find a new instance that has access to all the communities they want. It also makes onboarding new people significantly more complicated, as their choice of instance will drastically influence their feed.
To be clear, I'm not arguing against defederation, just pointing out that it causes issues that need dealt with.
After escaping from a mental institution in 1945, he went into business
That explains the bottles.
Seriously though, glad he got out. His ramblings were coming from a good heart and his soap is legendary.
"We've decided to expand our policy of not paying bills. We're now retroactively un-paying bills we've already paid."
"Why do people question the legitimacy of the court?"
- guy who goes fishing with people who have business before the court
Amusingly, over the last few years, the same folks who spent decades twisting the arbitration system to their own advantage have been flipping out, now that arbitration claims have become a form of distributed denial of service attack in protest to the company’s bad behavior.
Lol, plaintiffs' law firm knows exactly what they're doing.
"Defund the Police" was some of the worst branding/slogan I've ever seen. Like, opponents would literally just say "Can you believe they want to defund the Police?"
The actual ideas of the movement, like the program in this article, are great. They're popular, too. Demilitarizing the police has pretty widespread support.
But the first-glance impression of lawless anarchy that the "Defund" slogan brings up... You shouldn't need to explain why your slogan doesn't mean what it appears to mean.
I used to compare voting to a choice between a punch in the stomach vs a kick in the balls.
Nowadays it's a bit closer to a punch in the stomach vs repeatedly stabbed with a dirty needle by a guy hearing voices.
Like yeah, both sides are bad, but one is a LOT worse than the other.
I had cats and a fish pond. Each cat tried catching the fish exactly once, ever.
