Please read the replies to the link i posted in this linked post. It highlights a lot of really upseting content that is pushing LGBT people away from this instance and makes people feel uncomfortable or unsafe in a safe space. Reminder a persons right to exist peacefully shouldn't be up for debate and they shouldn't be treated like they were by the commenter who replied to their comment.

Do we as LGBT stand for this type of behavior to our siblings and friends??

As a beehaw user, they also have rude users too. You can read my post about "debates"

I actually found and reported comments being covertly hateful here and the admins did nothing.

For real, they really are

Your post reminds me of The Crust Punk Bar

Here's the story

dude next to me says, "hey i'm not doing anything, i'm a paying customer." and the bartender reaches under the counter for a bat or something and says, "out. now." and the dude leaves, kind of yelling. And he was dressed in a punk uniform, I noticed Anyway, I asked what that was about and the bartender was like, "you didn't see his vest but it was all nazi shit. Iron crosses and stuff. You get to recognize them." And i was like, ohok and he continues "you have to nip it in the bud immediately. These guys come in and it's always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don't want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too. And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now. And it's too late because they're entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down" And i was like, 'oh damn.' and he said "yeah, you have to ignore their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people."

You're right. They really don't. Censorship is done at the gov level, yet private companies or organizationns, that they defend, ban them and suddenly it's censorship. :/

I love this, disproves the whole "censorship" argument, if they were truly censored, they wouldn't even be allowed web hosting for instances.

They shouldn't be allowed to spread hateful messaging against others that leads to attacks

I'm subscribed to a community on lemny.ml, i posted over 24 hours & it still has yet to show on the lemmy.ml community. All my subscriptions "pending" too? Any ideas to fix?

[-] SapphicFemme@beehaw.org 10 points 1 year ago

Probably has someone vote for them or doesn't need to vote due to wealth and status. I am guessing here.

[-] SapphicFemme@beehaw.org 8 points 1 year ago

Exactly like Estonia

[-] SapphicFemme@beehaw.org 28 points 1 year ago

That's not shocking, especially with all their fear mongering about "voter fraud", meanwhile in Estonia you can vote electronically

It only really encourages it to show no punishment for clearly abusive actions though. It says in the rules of the community that stuff like that is clearly not tolerated

Wasn't it established this type of behavior isn't acceptable towards lgbt people? Dismissing their hurt caused by others and clearly gas lighting them?

The replies to this comnent are disheartening https://beehaw.org/comment/314559

Vetting users with a questionnaire is a good idea, allows admins to see who they should let in. What and how a person answers the questions tells a lot about the applicant.
