Hey, I don't know how the rest of you community mods are doing this.

Maybe there's a more efficient way, but for the cavemen like me feel free to "!" link you communities here & subscribe with your alts from different instances to force federation.

Welcome one and all to the Fediverse Wars!

In this game you may launch an "attack" on an instance to deal damage. A dice shall be rolled to see how much damage you do to the instance.

If you deal enough damage to the instance, it will be D-D-D-DEFEDERATED! Mua-ha-ha-ha! (well not really this is all for fun)

How to launch an attack? Simple, just comment below how you would sabotage one of the instances. You can be as creative as possible.

Some examples of valid attacks:

  • I unleash a pack of feral bear cubs on Kbin
  • Attack lemmy. ml
  • I release a botnet on Lemmy.world
  • Whack Sh.itjust.works with a hammer

etc. etc...

Pick an instance from below and launch an attack on one of them:

  • Lemmy.world
  • Kbin
  • lemmy. ml
  • sh.itjust.works
  • lemmy.Blahaj.zone

The only rule to this game: You may launch an attack only ONCE per post. I will make a new post daily, so in essence you can launch an attack once per day.

What? One attack per day isn't enough for ya? FINE. If you make a Post on the fediverse (anywhere) and link to it in the comments below, you get an EXTRA attack. Happy? Now swing that ban hammer and deal some damage in the comments below!

Am I wrong in thinking this is sad as hell? Like seeing an old faded billboard with the same "your ad here!" text that's been there for ages.

For real though, anyone know how that came to be?

Struggling with federation and sync issues on lemmy.world the past few days, apparently the update is expected to fix most of the problems. Anyone have a clue when version 0.18.1 is expected to release?

I love it! Would definitely vote this as the new logo

Both are bad choices. When reddit says open /r/pics or else, you just delete /r/pics.

Hard disagree with your first sentence. As @Starmina@lemm.ee explained, Reddit would just force re-open it.

And as explained in my comment, this is causing Reddit users to switch over to Lemmy due to the protesting subs getting stale: https://lemmy.world/comment/289241>

Glad you posted this - its the epitome of malicious compliance! And a fantastic form of protest too. With Reddit admins threatening to demote mods unless they re-open subreddits, this move takes away that ammo. Additionally, after the initial boost in activity due to novelty, the sub will get stale quickly and users will think of migrating to other platforms like lemmy or kbin. I'm all for it!

Edit: This is what I'm talking about. Here is one of those Reddit refugees now!
