@ajsadauskas @fuck_cars
Why is everyone so cynical here?
I am sure if we build just one more tunnel, everything will be fixed this time. 😜

@mondoman712
We know how to fix this...
Increase Urban density around new suburban "nodes" Make those nodes walkable 15 minute citties. Link nodes to other nodes with mass transit and bike lanes.

@CableMonster
Thanks.
You can probably see where I am going with this.
There is a big difference between a smaller practice work truck and a giant monster truck.
The aim of any taxes should be to discourage certain trucks and encourage others.

@CableMonster @anothercatgirl
Just out of curiosity, what sort of truck do you drive?

@GarfieldYaoi @const_void
When buying a car, you have a wide choice of shitty corporations to purchase from.

@azimir @NaibofTabr
Has anyone done a true cost analysis of cars?
All the external costs incling health, environment, climate change, Middle East Wars, Police...
#Urbanism #Traffication

We want them to stop drilling for more oil.
Throwing 1% of their profits on Lithium mining, while continuing to increase their emissions isn't really a win.

@fruitywelsh
I actually noticed myself the other week driving down a busy crowded road with trams, really slowing down and concentrating.
We could also follow India and allow cows to roam our streets freely 😉

@fruitywelsh @admiralteal
I'm thinking that planting trees randomly in the road is the best answer?!
Slow cars down and force drivers to concentrate 🤔😉

@Overthr0w
Yes, he's deciding for other people who use the platform. It's called Moderation.
It means that users don't have to spend their time blocking stuff and can get on with enjoying the platform.
This is not the same as the government blocking everyone's access to something. Where nobody can see certain content. That may be a free speech issue. If you want to see car company's PR, then there are hundreds of other platforms you can go to.
This is free speech. The right to hear as well as not hear on a PRIVATE platform.

[-] MrLee@aus.social 3 points 1 year ago

@Overthr0w @uthredii
Or is it actually Free Speech?
The right to hear as well as the right not to hear, as decided by a private invidual or organisation.
