They have separate water systems separated every few floors, with pumps and valves to correct the pressure between them.

What "identity politics" have the democrats been doing?

I really liked Reddit, getting a lot of value out of the content posted there by people. And I met some cool people through it.

I never got banned from it myself, but as time went on it was very clear that the company in charge of the platform was not steering things in a good direction, and was not responsible for the value I liked. They just captured the value by being the place where people posted. They really drove that point home when they locked off the API, and I completely quit Reddit at that point, migrating to Lemmy instead.

I definitely feel that Lemmy doesn't have as much value collected on it yet compared to Reddit. There's just not as many people posting and generating that value. But, it is free of that sort of draconian control that Reddit has. Not just temporarily free, as a favor from venture capital to draw people in. Permanently free. So, if we build up the value of Lemmy by having more people post here, we will be able to enjoy that value free from the corpo BS.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. :P

I'm all in favor of shitting on UHC, but ABA for autism is rather problematic, so they're actually on the same page as the autism community on this one.

EDIT: For those unfamiliar with it, it's basically the autism equivalent of gay conversion therapy, trying to convert autistic children to neurotypical behavior. It's not good for the autistic person's own mental health.

His surname was Balashnikov before it was changed to Galil to sound more Hebrew.

Crazy how the people who believe the government planned the pandemic are also on the side of the guy who ran the government at the time.

I would go further, especially considering the context:

Give people a survivable wage.

Regardless of whether they can work or not. People's survival should not be contingent on working. Give people what they need to survive as a baseline, and then if they want to work for more, they can negotiate for employment on equal terms.

Their worst sin in my opinion is actually how they split off the end of the Smaug storyline to be resolved in, like, the first five minutes of the third movie (literally before the title) rather than resolving it in the second movie. Huge pacing mistake.

There definitely are better taxes than property taxes. But, since it's a red state, they would probably replace it with a worse one. Or just debt.

I wrote in "Gaza" on the primary, but come november I am 100% sure that I'm gonna be voting D as hard as I can because my partner is trans and I'd rather not be driven from the country by transphobia, thanks.

Criticising the democrats for when they're not good is absolutely valid, but at the same time, get out and vote for them and mobilize as many voters for them as you can, because the difference in outcome between the two parties with legitimate chances of winning is too great to throw away your votes protesting the lesser of two evils. By all means, keep protesting (In other ways, besides the ballot box), but also do your part to make sure that we get the lesser of two evils, not the greater.
