This is in response to this video. I expressed concern about propaganda that leads a population to excuse atrocities, and they responded with this after some back and forth. For the record, we're not Israeli, neither do we have any friends or family who are, so I have no idea where "we" came from. I even called them out for it earlier in the conversation. I'm not posting the rest of the convo so don't ask.
The Boys is what always got me. It was "woke" from the first season, criticizing evangelicalism and corporatism, themes that were (and still are) major topics of debate today. As the show goes on, it tackles more ongoing issues like rainbow capitalism, police brutality, and now, rising fascism in America, and it's only woke now?
I find it weird that people like him are fine with using the term straight, but cis is for some reason seen as insulting

Yeah I love Lemmy, but I feel like it's being held up by a few different people. I comment and even occasionally post to try and help with that, but it's kind of scary how much weight is on a few peoples' shoulders, and that's not even accounting for server owners and the devs
