Where does this guide state anything about Canada ? In Northern Europe its seen as an insult to tip your waiter. Just pay your workers a living wage instead of hoping for the customers gratitude.

Exactly! And the idea that I fully cannot see other servers, or never interact with them anymore feels like wasted time.
To an extend. It's more concerning that I can build up my user, interacting with other communities, building my network and suddenly I loose all that because my server suddenly decides it no longer want to interact with other servers.
I specifically just deleted my beehaw account and created one here because of this... This move makes me reconsider this whole lemmy thing.
Other that all of the sign up feature being very confusing, I kinda feel afraid of selecting a less popular space to create my account on, as its not really documented what happens if the space your account is created on dies.
So in short. Having kids in a country that is not driven by money hungry oligarch means both higher satisfaction in life and higher meaning in life. Welp sounds about right.
