Google, the poor multi-billion dollar scrappy startup that maintains Android, made a payment app that has one notification setting, "Google Pay". So all the ads, promotions, everything.

Amazon is another poor startup that does that on their Android app.

I'm not sure there exist any.

Last time I checked, this was actually the biggest criticism Google recieved. They were pushing RCS on Apple, yet keeping it proprietarily only available on Google Messages.

Maybe it has changed. I don't know.

Latest update I heard was that they made it ON by default in Google Messages.

Virustotal.com

I have a PWA (Web App) created for this website on my home screen. I always check downloaded APKs by uploading them here.

It's smart. It does not always require you to upload the apk. 99% of the time, the APKs from Mobilism are already uploaded and scanned there by other users. In that case, the website simply checked the file hash, skips the upload and shows the scan results.

As for the scan results themselves, I'm not an expert. Maybe others on this thread can help you there.

This is my story:

  1. YouTube has a limit of 5000 videos in a playlist. So, the default 'Watch Later' playlist was filled up quickly for me.

Image

  1. Then I created a 2nd playlist named 'Watch Later 2' where I'm 3600 videos in. But now I've ditched this playlist for something new.

Image

  1. Instead, now I simply open a video & close it, to add it to my History. 'History' also has a search button now, but it needs the exact video title I guess, no typos.

Image

Also, I have a total of 84 different custom playlists that I've created for different topics & God knows the total number of videos they contain that need to be "watched later".

This is my life now in YouTube.

I was thinking about this yesterday: How come only SmartTube has proper Google login, while other Third party wrappers don't.

It would be awesome to use NewPipe with Google login. It's so fast and lightweight compared to the official YouTube based apps.

Many of the telegram groups have closed permanently. Are they still a thing? I know that Judas's drives are still working.

There's also DeArrow by the same developer that made SponsorBlock. It converts clickbait titles and thumbnails to be descriptive rather than being clickbaity and sensational.

  1. Mixplorer Silver - Feature-packed File Manager
  2. Hermit - Lightweight PWA browser
  3. Instaddr - creates disposable Email addresses
  4. Readera - Feature-packed book reader
  5. Moon+ Reader - Feature-packed book reader
  6. Balance - for Meditation. They have been offering a one year free trial for some time now. It has been really helpful for me. Their programs are highly customised to achieve your goals. Give it a try.
  7. KWGT & KWLP - if you're into home screen customisation, then these are must haves.
  8. 1DM - Feature-packed Browser and Download Manager (Direct downloads & torrents)
  9. Niagara Launcher - Lightweight, minimalist, with solid, fluid animations. One-hand friendly. Free version has ZERO ADS. I've been using the free version for a couple of years now. I'm hooked to it. I don't think I can go back to a normal App Drawer drawer style launcher now. They offer one time purchase as well for the pro version. I felt no need for the pro features, though i'd definitely buy the pro to support the dev.

Some of these have decent free alternatives. Mixplorer is free to use officially through XDA. KWGT & KWLP have free ad supported versions available through their official website. Regardless, these have been installed on all my phones for years now.

I was introduced to reddit via the Relay for Reddit app by an MKBHD video. For me relay was reddit. Couple of years later I found Reddit has a website and an official app. I took a look. ALL MY FAITH WAS LOST IN UI DESIGN & MY EYES WERE BURNING.

It's buggy and choppy for me. No animation feels fast and sleeker, like the way Lemmy-UI & Photon have it. I've tried both the device modes (iOS & Android Beta), it's the same.

Compared to this, the swipe animations are so smooth.

I'm using the PWA in Kiwi browser on Android.

Yep. They are all great. Photon is my favourite so far. Sleek & Fast with a Black & White theme. But they are still a Work in Progress amd lack features. I tried them a week ago. I always end up reverting back to lemdro.id
