I'm all about stopping the genocide in Gaza, that being said voting this down the bill would just add a genocide in Ukraine. Best we can hope for is harm reduction.

I get it though. Israel has in the past expelled Palestinians and not allowed them to return leaving them stateless wherever they took shelter. Egypt doesn't want a million people to suddenly become their problem permanently.

Seriously anyone remember the issue with Emoluments? They were specifically banned in the constitution, and the Government was sued over it, and then the Supreme court sat on it until Trump was no longer president and then the supreme ruled it moot. Republicans will not play by the rules.

The article focuses on sexual abuse, but being a police officer offers many paths to abuse and lawbreaking, and a group of people who will back your bullshit until it starts to affect their privilege. It's not hard to figure why police act with disregard for the law: It's rarely applied to them, and not to the extent it's applied to non-police people.
