I think I have watched that through about 3 or 4 times now, and then I found out my sister has done the same.

I was working as a contractor for a company, and two of us were told that we'd be moved to permanent roles but it kept getting blocked higher up.

It then became obvious why, because then they announced they are cutting all contractors and I heard they were moving our roles to a region where it's cheaper to pay salaries.

Then we all get called into this large meeting with our team members and some adjacent teams as some form of farewell. The meeting host starts off with something like, we have a few people that will be leaving us soon so let's go around and share some happy memories and what you enjoyed about working for [Company Name].

Yeah I just straight up left the meeting at that point.

A friend of mine had to use Starlink when he lived out in the sticks, near farmland.

I do wireless designs and surveys for a living, and I still prefer my cables. Wireless internet for me is a last resort if you cannot get some form of cabled internet.

My friend told me about the jitter and the spikes in latency, but also if the weather was too bad or really cloudy then his connection would be too bad to even browse.

I'll gladly sit on my VDSL line instead of Starlink and have a stable connection.

Also it means not funding Musk in anyway.

I have a small external drive and I just dump multiple ISO files on it and then select whichever one I want at boot, I don't have to keep formatting and making new bootable drives.
