I dabbled with Jerboa, Thunder, Liftoff, Connect, and wefwef.

I like Jerboa the most.

This is mainly an issue in the United States and Canada.

Truthfully, it was my least favorite of all of the Lemmy apps. I didn't like it's user interface. Was it recently updated?

I feel like there isn't a "hive mind" on Lemmy like there was/is on Reddit. Even if just a few folks disagreed with your opinion on Reddit, everyone else felt like they HAD to downvote it too and then the next thing you know, you're being downvoted to oblivion. Here, it seems that folks actually respect your opinion whether or not they agree with it; and while you may get a few downvotes or more, people aren't afraid of upvoting your comment either.

Such a different vibe and I'm here for it!

The admin of lemmy.world, @ruud@lemmy.world has voiced on Mastodon.world that we are not going to defederate from Threads just yet. He wants to "wait and see", which of course offers mixed feelings from folks.

Sometimes you can see the specific number of upvotes & downvotes on posts and other times you can't. Is this a community feature or an app bug?

I've historically been a lurker because I'm too lazy to comment most of the time. However, I've been trying to participate on Lemmy more than I did on Reddit in an effort to boost the fediverse and really turn this into the Reddit replacement that I want it to be.

Folks want to see an active community.

I'm just gonna leave Lemmy.world while I'm ahead. The quietness says all we need to know.

THANK YOU. I'M SO GLAD I FOUND THIS.

I can't stand Windows 11's start menu because I feel like it's too basic up-front, and then when you search anything, it's completely ad ridden. I've been using Startisback to fix this; however, I never really liked the start menu from Windows 7 and prior. The W10 start menu has always been my favorite.

Absolutely. It isn't all that much different than reddit once you get used to it.

There were/are a bunch of "Ask ____" subs, yes; I was subscribed to many of them. But there was only one r/AskReddit, which most closely aligns with the purpose of the two lemmy communities referenced in this post.

Thanks for the reply.

It's just a change coming from reddit where there was only one r/askreddit and it was the dominant and active one as there couldn't be another r/askreddit. I'm still adjusting to there being multiple Lemmy servers.

This Asklemmy and !asklemmy@lemmy.ml appear to be identical in purpose yet are hosted on two different Lemmy's. Do you guys have plans to merge into one?

Question is in the title. I'm trying to unblur NSFW posts on lemmy using my browser on PC. I have looked in settings and found an option to show NSFW content but that still doesn't unblur it. TIA.
