Elephants are incredible animals. They have complex communication and even communicate through seismic vibrations through the ground via their feet, and they can even recognize the elephant sending the seismic message. Additionally, they have cultural practices, including funeral rituals.

That's precisely why I left L.W. They also were removing community posts voicing opposition to threads federation. I witnessed it firsthand, where posts I commented in (and in which the majority of comments opposed it) were removed.
Now they removed the piracy communities again after promising not to. They are straight up untrustworthy and don't care about what their users actually want.

When my brother was getting up in arms about LGBTQ books and stuff in schools, this is how I framed it to ridicule him.

I can say the same thing about the consequences of my (US) country's actions in the 'war on terror.' We're the greatest contributing factor to the formation of ISIS. The casualties of our drone strikes alone (from Bush, Obama, and trump) were vastly civilian targets.
Whether it's politically/religiously motivated drone strikes on civilians, bombs in subways, or knife attacks, those actions spawn further fear, hate, intolerance, and extremism.
Even though Italy is enacting racist policies/systems, they are able to gather support for/'justify' their actions due largely to the terror attacks throughout Europe.

My school performance (with ADHD) was so much different in middle and high school than thru undergrad and now graduate school.

I understand that veggies exist. That's irrelevant to my desire to eat delicious meat that doesn't come from conscious organisms capable of suffering. Avoiding meat is entirely ethically-based for me.
Coffee is carcinogenic. So are roasted veggies, as well as common food additives. There's reasonable risk mitigation and then there's unreasonable (and impossible) risk elimination. I balance health and quality of life.
I don't think the climate impact of lab-grown meat (when, not if, it is perfected) would be anywhere near the emissions of CAFOs. That's an absurd area to focus on in place of targeting CAFOs, car emissions, jets, etc. that actually are significant sources of emissions.
