That’ll mean our car clock will become correct after its winter hiatus.
Just had the water company out to fix our supply. Seems the water meter was clogged with muck restricting the flow. We have untreated irrigation water as a supply, so not really surprising given the recent pipework upgrades they’ve been doing. The engineer told me they’ve had hundreds of calls in recent weeks from people with the same problem.
It cooked perfectly, letting it cool now and will try a slice for afternoon tea. Put less cinnamon in than the recipe, but that’s a personal taste thing of course.
Just made a carrot cake. Got it all ready and in the oven, 2 minutes later the mains power dropped. A minute later it was back on. Rushed to get the oven on again, think we were lucky, if it had been 20 minutes into cooking, that could have been a problem.
Here’s a website - cults.co.nz - not looked at it in much detail, but it seems to have lots of info.
Later start today, hope everyone is OK.
Got a surprise yesterday, went to the local Warehouse only to find it is now selling fresh veges, fruit, and kitchen pantry items.
Quite a big saving over supermarket prices, and the fresh stuff looks high quality. Looked up on how they were operating this and learned they are concentrating on local suppliers. I’d say their typical prices are 25-30% lower than the supermarkets. Bought 3L of olive oil for $30, in the supermarket that’d be $45.
It’s the Final Countdown
I think it’s great. Such a friendly community, and lots of help if someone has a question.
Thanks should go to Auckland Zoo for establishing their re-introduction programme. Great work!!
I’d recommend NOT planting too close to walls. Plants will grow and spread, and could potentially cling to walls causing an ongoing maintenance issue. Roots could also be an issue as they grow. Small plants look nice initially, but can be a menace in the end. Here’s looking at you Buddliah!!! I wouldn’t plant grass that close to the house walls, difficult to keep tidy.
I like the stone/gravel surround idea. Where we are there are suppliers who have a big range of different coloured/shape/size stones.
Have been doing this stuff for more years than most of you have been alive, ha,ha!!
In the early days of torrents, seeding was a key feature to keep the post alive. But now it seems too many just want to download and fuck off, with absolutely no seeding back. Why is that? They just download something, then it’s fuck off to anyone else who might want to download it?
To me the basic spirit of sharing has gone. Maybe I’m just an old cunt now, but to me it’s a real shame.
Happy Summer Solstice Day everyone.
