Yeah, if a request was made under Article 17 of the GDPR they would have to remove it. They can only keep that data for specific and relevant reasons and I'd be hard-pressed to find a reason for them to keep my memes and shitposts.

That's usually reserved for things like previous employers to keep certain data for tax/finance reasons etc.

Holy crap, yeah. The amount of repost bots I've been seeing lately has been insane. Also noticed a massive increase in porn bots in the comments, almost all exactly the same kind of thing

"Hey baby check me out https://linktr.ee/obviouspornscam"

I'm not convinced it'll completely back down but I suspect there is a chance they'll lower the pricing structure to a more 'reasonable' amount.

If I put my tinfoil hat on I'd say this was the plan from the start;

  • Announce something ludicrous
  • Get the users a bit fired up
  • Backtrack to what you'd always planned
  • Play it all off like "See, we listen to you guys, aren't we good?"

Yeah, just regular Firefox with a few add-ons like adblockers and script blockers and such. It's got a pretty seamless sync with Firefox on my mobile too.

Firefox for me.

I used to be a Chrome guy for ages but made the switch a few years back after I noticed Chrome was getting a bit bloated.
