Vor einigen hundert Jahren gab es keinen Unterschied.

I have already downloaded it as an extension, it is simply not allowing me to set it as default. It shows me the button, but does not work when toggled.

I currently use Firefox and DuckDuckGo, but I'm thinking about getting a new browser and search engine. Are there any good recommendations. Privacy-focused is non-negotiable, and i would like it to be open source.

I have heard of Ecosia. How exactly do they work? If they truly do help the environment, like they claim, I may look into that. Is there any evidence? Looking into their privacy policy, it doesn't seem too optimal.

Maybe that logic flies on some island. Doesn't fly in France.

Go France!

You can buy an immersive metal strainer for not too expensive and some loose leaf tea, on top of having less microplastics, it's significantly higher quality (tea in bags is dust left over after the processing of loose leaf tea).

Also, and this is genuine confusion so sorry, what do you mean by it's sexist to use the term normally? Is the name of a strainer or cheesecloth or something sexist? Genuine confusion, sorry, I don't understand that part of the text.

  1. I have a few times but last time no.
  2. No.

I've never heard the advice to second ferment with a flavouring before, I think I'll try that!

I've never second fermented before. Take the grains out after 24 hours, right?

Thank you so much for the advice!

Right, thank you!

Ah, sorry, I'm very new to lemmy and I don't quite know how it works.

Around a year ago I started being uncomfortable, but it's gotten worse recently. When I am in a comfortable environment like home, I am able to look myself in the mirror without much discomfort, but a recent shopping trip left me in a panic due to how many mirrors and reflective surfaces there were (in the cold section).

I've been recently dealing with worsening eisoptrophobia (fear of reflections) and spectrophobia (fear of mirrors), and I was wondering if anyone else here experiences these? Does anyone have any tips to manage these phobias?

Hello! Recently, I've been grappling with worsening eisoptrophobia (fear of reflections), and I was wondering if anyone else has this issue. I also seem to have spectrophobia (fear of mirrors), which is distinct, but I think I have both.

Forgive me if this is the wrong community to post to, I could not find a broader community focused on phobias, or a community for either of these phobias.

I've been having issues with making milk kefir. Mostly, actually, fear of drinking it after fermentation. Sometimes I notice this foam on the top, and after straining, I don't know how to describe it and don't have any photographs.

When my kefir is done, it smells almost identical to sourdough starter. Is this normal? Does this mean its safe? It is different to commercial kefir, which I know is more of a thin yoghurt.

I found out about CryptPad through a video, I think. I've been using it for a while for some docs, and I find it quite useful. It has bugs, if you tab out and tab back in you sometimes need to reload the page to continue editing, it takes a while to load, but overall works well, has a good privacy policy. Does anyone else use it? Are there other services like it?
