Hi there! I'm in Madison and am pretty active on the subreddit. I'm making my way over here slowly but surely. I am in grad school for urban planning. I enjoy talking and debating politics and philosophy, and am active on the Social Democracy subreddit.
Considering the fact that Madison just had to pass a budget referendum to avoid making cuts to services, this seems like a good way to fill that gap. It may also incentivize bus and bike travel, which would be beneficial to Metro and traffic patterns.
