transcriptGraham Linehan is a normal and well man.

A few hours later, he sends me an example of how he’s been using AI. It’s a “hidden role deduction” game he’s working on. At the top is the prompt he put into ChatGPT: “You are five blind lesbian adventurers out for a good night out. Slaying dragons and whatnot. But one of your number is a hulking great troll pretending to be a woman. Find the troll lesbian and then devise an amusing punishment without giving him an erection.

Genetic engineering and/or eugenics is the long term solution. Short-term you are supposed to ban GPU sales, bomb non-complying datacenters and have all the important countries sign an AI non-proliferation treaty that will almost certainly involve handing over the reins of human scientific progress to rationalist approved committees.

Yud seems explicit that the point of all this is to buy enough time to create our metahuman overlords.

Apparently the hacker who publicized a copy of the no fly list was leaked an article containing Yarvin's home address, which she promptly posted on bluesky. Won't link because I don't think we've had the doxxing discussion but It's easily findable now.

I'm mostly posting this because the article featured this photo:

Shamelessly reproduced from the other place:

A quick summary of his last three posts:

"Here's a thought experiment I came up with to try to justify the murder of tens of thousands of children."

"Lots of people got mad at me for my last post; have you considered that being mad at me makes me the victim and you a Nazi?"

"I'm actually winning so much right now: it's very normal that people keep worriedly speculating that I've suffered some sort of mental breakdown."

Apparently linkedin's cofounder wrote a techno-optimist book on AI called Superagency: What Could Possibly Go Right with Our AI Future.

Zack of SMBC has thoughts on it:

They’ve grown up as programmers with AI already available to them.

Is that the same AI that's been available for barely two years?

What a drama queen.

That's some wildly disingenuous goal post moving when describing what was meant to be The Future of Finance™ at the time.

Like saying yeh, AGI was a pipedream and there's no disruption of technical professions to be seen anywhere, but you can't deny LLMs made it way easier for bad actors to actively fuck with elections, and the people posting autogenerated youtube slop 5.000 times a day sure did make some legitimate ad money.

The justice of the argument is clear to me. I have already made arrangements for my children to come to not be genetically mine. When the time comes, I will call upon their aid, presuming the sequencing does not tell us there are incompatibilities

I like how that implies that he keeps a running genetic tally of all his acquaintances in case he needs to tap them for genetic material, which is not creepy at all.

(Rorschach voice) Watched them today—parade their genetic blessings like medals earned in some cosmic lottery. Strong jawlines, symmetrical faces, eyes that catch the light just right. Retrieved 23AndMe card from alley behind 41st street. Admins restrained commenter screaming how it's all just eugenics. Is everyone but me going mad?

American white supremacist, pedophilia apologist, alt-right pseudointellectual, grifter, transphobe, anti-feminist, ableist, eugenicist and fake contrarian Richard Hanania jumps on the siskind-is-basically-a-prophet bandwagon in order to (checks notes) shill designer mouth bacteria.

If I had a 1980s sitcom mom sitting next to me here, she might ask “If Scott Alexander told you to jump off a bridge, would you do that too?” To which I’d respond probably not, but I would spend some time considering the possibility that I had a fundamentally flawed understanding of the laws of gravity.

Not so much a random terf as someone who appears to have been trying to use lesswrong struggle sessions in place of trans conversion therapy for a while now.

Or at least that's my diagonal impression, and I'm also not going over that entire maelstrom just to make sure if they are a rotten egg or not.

Top comment by a large margin is an extensive 'your sources are bad and you should feel bad' by some Bob Jacobs, which would be encouraging, if wasnt for every. single. other. comment.

Not a bad read overall (the BJ comment), especially if like me you didnt remember off the top of your head who Lynn is and why he sucks, even if it suffers from the forced rationalist equanimity that dictates you treat obviously disingenuous bulshit with the utmost respect as long as it is presented in a sufficiently formalistic manner and doesn't call for genocide too overtly (I wonder what the deleted Roko comment was about).
