Well, at least a soviet tank can be repaired with a hammer, unlike a deere

Which one? And why exactly?

Honestly, as an outsider, it seems like the majority of engagement from hexbear's side is extremely bad faith. Same vibes as twitter drama from couple years ago when twitter queers "cancelled" leftist and queer content creators and prominent figures for basically nothing. Like Contrapoints twitter drama. Or Lindsay Ellis twitter drama. Or second Contrapoints twitter drama, you get the point...

I'd say this is not an unpopular opinion. It was (and I believe still is) US govt position on these events. It's also wrong

IIRC he actually did twat some vaguely transphobic things soon after that.

I really hope it survives, only because I want to preserve and archive all of it's content. Sure, there's a lot of duplicate data and links to other places, but there's also a lot of unique things there. If it dies before it can be properly archived we would lose most of it, with only internet archive keeping some. That would be sad.

I'm curious about political implications of these technologies. Current centralized internet is very compatible with both neoliberal governments and right-libertarian tech guys and corps who run it. A more decentralized internet would likely be both harder to control and to profit from.

How does Bluesky compare to Mastodon? So far, it seems inferior when not accounting for userbase. It is described as decentralized, but it is connected to both Twitter controlled by Musk and Jack Dorsey, neither of whom I peronally trust. So why is it a thing?

TBH, I kinda see the point of being so protective over the Red Cross. It's meant to be used to mark medics in a war, so not allowing it to be used frivolously removes any excuse from any party commiting war crimes.

Not that anyone cares about not commiting war crimes.

I can't understand the queer tankies. Like, do they believe that an explicitly authoritarian regime would suddenly have no need for a maginalized minority to target? Do they believe that they will somehow become the minorty group in power and will be able to target other groups? Or is just like lgbt cons who hope to be "One of the good ones"?
