Or you know, maybe people staying home because they can’t support a genocide, the death of the nation or the comedy option of a dude who cheated on his wife so hard, while on heroin, as worms died in his brain of mercury poisoning…

Yeah, you are right, she’s not the speaker, she’s the shrill conspiratorial shouter.

For me, right now. I’m having a blast figuring out how to self host all the enshittified services that I’m closing off access to.

Catch 22 really, I’m enjoying it because I’m learning so much, so fast but probably shouldn’t have to and it’s not feasible for most I realize.

so much better. Instead of a human seeing it, your personal info is now a part of the amazon machine. IMHO it’s even more terrifying to know it’s automated than it would be if some kid unboxed it off the assembly line and personally typed your shit in off a piece of paper.

God I’m old.

This “entrepreneurial mindset” is what’s making it so hard to adjust to my new role. Recently took a job that’s new to me but since I always feel responsible and will try to fix everything, I’m having a lot of trouble staying in my lane. I need to keep reminding myself, just because I can do something, doesn’t make it my responsibility, nor do I deserve the blame if I don’t swoop in to fix it.

Apple 2e I got from my next door neighbor at a garage sale. I spent every moment on the thing until I saved up enough to build myself a 486. After that I was the computer kid so people would give me their old stuff, had a 286 and a 386 that put together from a box of discarded office computer parts. Spent hours sorting through and testing individual RAM chips but was able get it working, I still remember typing up school papers on it and the horrible racket the daisy wheel printer made as it printed my assignments on green and white office paper.

Agreed, this feels like more theater. These holds make so much sense when you put it in the larger context of what the moron movement is setting itself up for.
