Donald Trump had recently finished a familiar riff about banning gender transition surgery for children when the former president, speaking to an audience of Evangelical voters, moved on to something new: a policy that would affect transgender adults. “I will ban all taxpayer funding for sex or gender transitions at any age,” said Trump, receiving thunderous applause at the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference in Washington last month. The Republican leader, who moments earlier had also pledged to reinstate a ban on transgender men and women serving in the military, paused for several seconds to soak in the crowd’s adulation.

Obviously. This was always the plan.

You think a bunch of old white Republican men were actually passionate about high school girls’ sports? No, it was just a game they were playing until they could start speaking openly. The goal is to push the anti-trans laws as much as possible and be as oppressive as possible.

These people make me sick, fucking Nazi bastards. If Trump gets in power again, a LOT of people are going to suffer.

Well, basically anyone not a white male I imagine.

Yet again, the party of small government wants to permanently live in people's pants. I wish they believed their own bullshit enough to actually stand for something other than just basic hate and taking rights they don't like from others.

This was always going to be the next thing. Solidarity to all my trans friends (B with T is, sadly, not strong enough at times).

Anyone who thinks that this wasn’t always the next step in the plan hasn’t studied history.

A Christian Nation is very Un-American, but these religious nuts and politician craving power want this.

Stop voting for Republicans, they don't believe in our democracy. And be sure to vote like it matters, because it does.

There is no such thing as a "good conservative". Do your part. Disown and exclude them from your life wherever possible.

I am so over pretending there is any space in society for these Nazi fucks.

Let’s be real - across the globe the right wing has marched happily towards fascism. Fuck them all, forever. There are no good right wingers. There will never be any good right wingers. We can’t just beat and kill them this time. We have to salt the earth of their communities.

I hate how Republicans seem to be enthralled with new and exciting ways to hurt people. This isn't what government is for, I want government to create policies to help people not just throw violence at people for some random reason. Can we outlaw making the government hurt people or something? Is that possible?

On the subject of trans civil rights in the US, we already have. It's explicitly outlawed in a variety of places including the Civil Rights Act and 14th amendment.

A non-corrupt SCOTUS would see these anti-trans laws for what they are: discrimination on the basis of sex. Already explicitly illegal. The problem is, conservatism has never cared about rule of law outside of when they can use it as a tool to get their way.

We need to wake the fuck up. They'll come for every last one of us they consider degenerate in the end.

They know their base.
