As an American, it was also my breakfast for years.

I don't miss smoking, but sometimes I do genuinely miss smoking, if that makes sense. Especially with coffee or tea. :/

I feel ya. I quit smoking like a year ago and while I'm glad I did, I miss those cigarettes, when they just hit right.

[-] DharmaCurious@startrek.website 14 points 1 year ago

Yes! Exactly. Right in the back of the throat, that fullness in the chest, and the exhale that felt like you'd been holding your breath all day and you could finally breathe.

I am glad I quit, though. Picked them up again a few months ago when I was beyond stressed and good God, they taste like rancid shit.

Yeah I picked up a pack a few weeks ago after not smoking for ten years. I smoked half the pack over a few days and tossed the rest. It was just gross. I had romatasized it all hose years and then in reality t was just smelly and sticky and harsh. The smoke didn't feel nice and my hands felt dirty after. Took a week for the smell to leave my jacket.

Same, I haven't had a cigarette in 5+ years and still get cravings.

My 80+ grandmother quit 60+ years ago and still gets cravings. I wish I'd never started and had the ability to quit but I'm not there yet.

Best advice I can give is just wait until you're ready. It helps too to get a respiratory infection and just quit while it feels terrible to smoke 😂

Well, shit, that literally was my breakfast today, I guess I am a walking stereotype. I also like continental philosophy and am clinically depressed. Can I get even more European? Please give me advice.

If you're Italian or want to cosplay as one, add a small pastry that was made with an entire bag of sugar.

You also have to make the coffee cup like 10 times smaller

[-] Obi@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 year ago

But with just as much if not more caffeine.

Depends how that big cup is made. If it's one of those American diner filters with 2-3 scoops of coffee/l of water, yeah. If it's a coffee from a cafe or home made where you put 10-20g of coffee/cup, then that coffee will have more caffeine than most espressos.
