I really like to post OC edits, but there seems to be absolutely no great solution. I don’t have the storage space or good internet to self-host PeerTube, catbox.moe seems to be hit or miss, uploading huge video files to an instance is just rude, and YouTube tries to deny the privacy of the viewer and uploader at every turn. I’m willing to pay for a solution that will work across all apps and platforms. Oh, and imgur has a length limit (that’s weird)

If you don't mind paying for a solution, you could setup peertube on any vps, and connect it to any S3 compatible storage. Self hosted doesn't always have to mean "self hosted in my basement"

I'll look into that, for sure. Do you have a link to a quick guide to that?

If you are a student and also have Github student, DigitalOcean gives a huge amount of credits:

https://www.digitalocean.com/github-students

I've had my servers (VPS') with them for more than 5 years.

Just know that the credits are valid only for 2 months

CloudFlare R2 is S3-compatible with no egress fees, which would be useful for video hosting. They have a reasonable free tier as well, so you could try it out beforehand.

The only other reliable video host I know about is Streamable, but I've never looked at their privacy policy so it may be just another YouTube. Might be worth a look though?

The last time I tried there, the video would expire. I'll look around if there is a paid solution.

I just looked and they have a paid tier for $10/mo that removes the free limits and includes 500GB of cloud storage.

Thanks for the reply. It might be a good option.
