Quick note: If you want a flawless experience wait for it to mature, for me I am going to be use it for a while as my main client.
Really hope it matures and grows into a reliable and full-fledged client! Your help (reporting bugs, submitting feedback, suggesting ideas, etc.) has been very valuable so far ๐
But I've fallen for Thunder! Dare I try another?
Thunder has been my go to since Liftoff stopped getting updates and 19.0 effectively caused a lockout. ~~That being said, I am really ooking forward to trying out Raccoon once it hits F-Droid or play store (too lazy to compile myself tbh)~~ as everything I've seen from the dev has been positive.
Edit: just checked and looks like the tester version IS available in the playstore finally. Exciting news ๐
Well, initial impressions were good but on my phone, the toolbar at the bottom was underneath the android navigation buttons. I'll report it in the lemmy community.
I, too, loved LiftOff! but the developer had twins and, understandably, that seemed like the end.
Observing the same here. Will look to see if the bug exists later (or if you end up filing it) and maybe play around with it. There are a few cool Thunder feature requests that would also be killer (like ability to custom configure swipe actions). One small and purely superficial thing that I'm loving though is the font preview menu. Great user-first design and engineering.
Have been enjoying this app for almost 2 months, really good clear layout, smooth scrolling, with some nice options & the Dev is active & open to feedback..
Nobody uses Jerboa here ?
Yep I use it
Jerboa is awesome and has got better and better over time. And it being open source is a great value given to the whole Lemmy community. Whenever I have doubts, I look at Jerboa's code as a sacred book for guidance, meditation and inspiration ๐ once you get accustomed to some of their idiosyncrasies it has all the answers!
Multiplatform? As in, also for desktop?
Never say never... adding a JVM flavour to convert it to a desktop app is technically possible and, even if some native parts would need to be reimplemented (gallery selection of images, etc) it would be a fun exercise to do so.
Really, really good.
This looks really neat! I'm on Voyager atm, but would love to give this a good go ๐
