Since cops have no duty to protect, every single time you see a cop protecting a nazi, it's because that cop chose to protect that nazi.
My first thought was "well there's a slightly less chance they'll be aggressive if you stroke their ego" and hoo boy does that say a lot about American policing.
America is fucking weird man. Why would you thank cops for their service?
They thank members of the armed forces (soldiers, sailors, aviators etc.) for their service and most people extend these for the police force as well.
Why? (For both parts of that statement)
Because they have theoretically dangerous jobs, that Americans indoctrination teaches are necessary for the American way of life.
It's so stupid too. It's not like they were drafted. They signed up for it willingly. They're being compensated for it too, so it's not like they're volunteers either.
Because soldiers serve the country they are a citizen of.
That's still fucking weird.
Sounds like we should be even more upset with the courts/judges🤔
While I agree they share their weight of the issue, the police unions who push for this always seem to go mostly unnoticed
This is also true
Very good point. If you have a parent that won't correct a misbehaving kid, is it the kids fault that they're a pos?
It doesn't help that police have their own "policies" that are usually misaligned with the actual law, which in turn cause them to ignore a lot of people's civil rights.
The first "A" in ACAB stands for ALL.
Yes even that one cop. Yes, even your uncle.
There can be no good cops while they allow bad cops to exist.
If you ever get detained by cops:
-
"I am exercising my right to remain silent."
-
"I am exercising my right to speak with a lawyer."
-
SHUT UP (Don't say shut up. Actually shut up)
Always remember:
You can never talk yourself OUT of trouble. You can only talk yourself INTO trouble!
They are however, required to protect corporations from you.
