Deep rock is a lot of fun, even with randoms online. Although I haven't played it for quite awhile. Been playing a lot of D4 lately, but kind of just waiting for season 1 to start soon.
Also looking forward to Cities Skylines 2 and Starfield!

Oooh I'm looking forward to Starfield as well. I'm hoping it's a game I can get lost in. Also second d Deep Rock, it's an enjoyable time with friends for sure.
Deep rock is fun but haven’t anyone to play with! Sadly I’m in a deep study mode for a few weeks haha but would give it a go!
You're mining the academic world for exam points!
What platform are you on? There's a somewhat "official" DRG discord that has LFG channels for all the different platforms, as well as heaps of other info. I can give you the link if you'd like, or you can probably google "deep rock Galactic discord".
I’m on the discord! Just haven’t had any time and yea almost done training then I’ll have so much free time! I’m PC.
Xbox gamer here. Currently doing Overwatch 2 but keen to try other games. I've tried Deep rock galactic once but don't think I liked it after a short try. But heard many good stories about it. So will give it another chance!
I tried Overwatch 2 and I didn't like the movement. Maybe it's because I play Destiny 2 which has pretty damn good movement and freedom of movement. Ow2 just felt slow and janky to me.
As for Deep Rock. Well first it has a 97% Overwhelmingly Positive rating on steam, out of 170k reviews. That's pretty insane! Second, I suspect it would be much better with friends/other people. Unfortunately there's no Crossplay :(
Edit: There's a Deep Rock discord that has LFG channels for all the different platforms and things. I can give you the link if you'd like, or you can probably google "deep rock Galactic discord".
Thanks, think I found the discord server. Will give the game a try again. I tried single player indeed which wasn't much fun.
Overwatch 2 movement is pretty good for me, I'm playing on xbox. I found Destiny 2 too overwhelming. So many options :)
I mostly play xbox these days. Spending a lot of time playing Doom 1 and 2. Nothing matches Doom for speed.
I have a decent ps1 and ps2 collection. Retro gaming became popular in the last couple of years and mostly priced me out of the hobby.
If it's speed you're after try Titanfall 2, my son is really good and watching him play is enough to give you seizures it's so fast paced.
So sad that Respawn never got around to finish making Titanfall 3 :(
So sad EA axed Titanfall 3, Respawn started making it but EA bought them out and demanded they make it a battle royale which they didn't want to do so EA just axed it instead. Iirc of course, don't quote me on it but I'm pretty sure this is how it went down.
Emulators work brilliantly for ps1 and 2. You can even enhance the graphics. I'm playing Burnout 3 and it looks amazing
Yep! Mostly play simulation / base builder type games these days. Currently playing Tropico 6.
What platform are you on? My last sim/construction type game was Roller Coaster Tycoon about 20 years ago! I don't know what those games are like these days.
Steam (on Linux). The games in this genre are pretty sophisticated these days, e.g. Rimworld, Factorio, etc. Cities Skylines is such a good simulation that it's used by real world city planners.
Jeez. So they're kinda like the Flight Simulators of the building/planning world? That's awesome.
Not all of them. I mean, I guess you could use Rimworld to test out how you would build a colony of militant cannibals! 😂
Haha I haven't played Rim World. To me it sounds like an ass eating game.
Check out the Youtube series 'City Planner Plays Cities Skyline' he actually plans out and manages the cities he makes with absolutely everything: Water pipelines, power utilities, different levels of road and traffic management, zoning for commercial/residential/commerce etc. He even designs and implements things like University Campuses and National Parks into his cities.
Destiny was high up on a list here of 'games you wouldn't recommend' haha
I'm currently replaying Bayonetta on hard mode, Also Burnout 3 on the ps2 emulator.. goddam it's still so good after all this time. And finally getting around to Darkwood, which is also great.
I used to play a lot of CS and FEAR and CoD, but cheaters and ~~loot boxes~~ gambling for kids ruined everything so now I just stick to single player games.
Burnout takedown is so good.
The soundtrack (and also Tony Hawk's) was so influencial
Nintendo 2DS lol
I inherited a 2DS, where do you buy games!
Oh I don't know I modified mine hah
But can it run Crysis?
Yep. I play on PC, PS5 and Switch. Mostly into A/RPGs, RTSes, and retro games/platformers. Currently playing:
I still need to finish God of War. I'm a couple hours into it.
I was pretty hardcore mad into Diablo 3. I played both Diablo 4 open betas and yea it was cool, but I knew that Blizzard were just gonna squeeze every goddamn dollar out of it and that's why I didn't buy it, and I'm glad I didn't to be honest!
I had to get out of Age of Empires 2 HD. I got it on gamepass when it came out this time round and all the nostalgia of young 12 year old me came back which was great! What was less great is I totally forgot how much of a time limbo you go into playing that game, especially since you can sometimes spend 3 hours on a campaign level and not only lose, but realise by the end of that time that you actually lost a long time ago and were simply prolonging your loss. That game really decimates your time.
You bet! I'm actually trying to make a game (PC base builder called Adaptory). I've been playing a lot of Timberborn and Diablo 2 recently.
Just finished doing nearly everything in TotK, have been playing FF16 lately and am halfway through the NG+ on hard mode.
Going on holiday for a month but when I get back I'll finish that, then finish the game I'm making, and then get balls deep into Baldurs Gate 3 with a friend.
In the big this-gen console drought of the past few years I managed to pick up an Xbox Series X last year, probably around this time of the year. During that time I rinsed sooooo maaanny gamepass games it was incredible.
For the past month or so, like everyone else, i've been deep inside Hyrule although I must be nearing the end of my time there as i've only got about 5 more shrines to find, have lit up the entirety of the depths, almost have full zonaite battery. Only thing left to do story wise I think is to chat with Purah about going into that big ol' scary castle in the middle of the map!
Later in the year I'm gonna get back into Cyberpunk (when the new DLC hits) and continue through that. But in between I think i'm going to need a non-open world, more linear type game I can smash through. Hopefully more narrative based as open world games aren't particularly gripping in that regard.
I was also really into PSVR a few years ago (I think I have 150+ PSVR games on the PS4) so I will get a PS5 at some point and then also get the new PSVR2. I've heard the jump in clarity and smoothness is enormous so i'm pretty excited about that.
