To me that looked like a well performed manoeuvre.

[-] flambonkscious@sh.itjust.works 18 points 10 months ago

I concur - it seems like the chances of recovering so gracefully (vs ending up in a ditch, or similar) are miniscule.

Plus the while setting is conveniently clear, like its been planned

[-] Hikermick@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

Agreed. Something about their driving seemed very deliberate. Either that or they're an asshole that got luckey

[-] Montagge@kbin.social 5 points 10 months ago

Looks like a shit driver to me

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 15 points 10 months ago

someone having fun doing something I would never do

Clearly they lack skill and knowledge.

[-] GiveMemes@jlai.lu 5 points 10 months ago

They clearly lack skill and knowledge based on the shitty uncontrolled spin that they barely pulled themselves out of. Did they have to better than 90% of drivers to know how to countersteer? Yes. Are they still dogshit compared to the top 1% also yes except they think they're invulnerable as it's usually poorly (if at all) trained teenagers and young adults that do incredibly stupid shit like this.

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

What a weird gatekeep-y comment. "They didn't perform as well as the top 1% they're incredibly stupid" what is it with this post that has all the butthurt people coming out

[-] GiveMemes@jlai.lu 8 points 10 months ago

Probably all the people doing things like this that think they're hot shit and then kill a family of 4 being an idiot on public roads.

[-] tryagain@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago

You seem upset.

[-] Falcon@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Could you share the link to some of your driving videos?

I like cars and I’d love to see your stuff.

[-] distantsounds@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago

Yeah, you should never film while driving…especially in snowy conditions…and definitely not with your arm out the window

[-] Enoblk@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

The car filmed does seem to have European plates, so the person filming could be the passenger of a right hand drive car. But I can't really tell much more from the video

[-] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

There are only a few countries in Europe that have right have drive cars, most well known is England. On the mainland we mostly do it the normal way.

[-] Seudo@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

In Aus they do it on gravel with bunky utes. In UAE they do it on bitumen with new Mercs. Takes a bit of fine tuning but it's the same same.

[-] 7u5k3n@lemmy.world 49 points 10 months ago

Low performance car... High performance driver.

[-] deegeese@sopuli.xyz 23 points 10 months ago

Just a normal day in Russia?

[-] Sticker@lemy.nl 8 points 10 months ago

People forget to change from summer tyres to winter tyres when the frost arrives.

[-] aluminium@lemmy.world 16 points 10 months ago

He got a draft letter and is on the run

[-] mrspaz@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

More like he got a drift letter... 😁

[-] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 2 points 10 months ago

Yeah, he’s clearly done this before. You don’t simply spin out like this and not end up losing control and hitting a by sheer accident. Keeping the car going straight like this requires a fair amount of countersteering.

[-] Thcdenton@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago

Anyone else hear hardbass?

[-] SpruceBringsteen@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

I think I can hear it under the window rattles.

[-] DaleGribble88@programming.dev 7 points 10 months ago

Granted there were no other cars on the road at the time, I did the same thing as a young adult. I took my 1985 Pontiac Fiero GT iceskating on a 3 lane highway with about 0.5-1.5 inch of snow and ice buildup

[-] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

It’s actually 1/2”-1-1/2”.

[-] NoIWontPickaName@kbin.social 14 points 10 months ago

This is America, it’s actually .0001-.0003% of a football field thank you

[-] ElBarto@sh.itjust.works 4 points 10 months ago

What's that in hotdogs?

[-] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I thought imperial measurements used fractions and slaves.

[-] NoIWontPickaName@kbin.social 1 points 10 months ago

It was actually fractions of slaves but we did away with that, too messy.

[-] mp3@lemmy.ca 7 points 10 months ago

Casual Japanese Drift Racer player right there

[-] Atin@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

TBF that was some pretty impressive driving.
