It's a country where workers go on strike regularly. I'm not surprised that the same people won't listen to their rulers telling to stop. (Didn't the French do the same to give equal rights to women iirc?)

Most equal rights for women movements were heavily quashed by the ruling men. The suffragettes had to literally bomb shit to be heard.

I find it hard to believe that the folks in France who work in government have forgotten that protesting is the compromise people made to have their voices heard... The alternative being the separation of heads from necks as the first step in the revolution.
