I went to a Nugent concert once (Blue Oyster Cult was opening and the person I went with wanted to stay for him) and he straight up had a political rally in the middle of it. Like, actually brought a local Republican candidate on stage to give a speech. And now they say changing a single line of a song is out of line. Go fuck yourselves.

And now they say changing a single line of a song is out of line

And let's remember that it was already a political song. It's not like they added a political statement in the middle of The Sound Of Music.

They didn't even change the meaning of the song. They changed one lyric and the message remained the same. "Redneck" and "maga" are practically synonymous.

Apart from those lefty rednecks. They're cool guys with their flannel shirts and fab facial furniture (handlebar moustaches).

You mean a musical about how Nazis destroyed Austrian society and culture?

[-] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

No, I mean the song about how there's beauty in everything

The Sound of Music has literal Nazis in it.

[-] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

I mean the song, not the movie

Lest we forget about Tom Morello clapping back on this chud in 2017.

Imagine saying out loud that you don't pay attention to what you're doing when listening is what you're supposed to do with music. They just admitted they have no idea how to listen to music. What a horde of idiots.

A horde of...American Idiots, you might say.

Reality is a team sport, to some people. They're not idiots or hypocrites. They think this is how things work. They are applying reasoning to reach whatever conclusion they want next, and inconsistency will never bother them in the fucking slightest.
