It's funny that neither works.

Mandatory reminder that Stonetoss is a Nazi.

[-] SgtSilverLining 53 points 2 years ago

I was genuinely surprised to see a stonetoss comic not about racism, lgbt-phobia, sexism, or pro Nazi stuff. Took me a second to realize it's not even a BHJ!

[-] Chasm@vlemmy.net 22 points 2 years ago

Well, deluded genocide-promoting nazis are still human and have a variety of interests 😌😌 including in this case social media and free speech (for him and his people).

[-] Si_sierra 15 points 2 years ago

This is actually one of his dogwhistle tactics. He makes some comics that are more vague on his political beliefs and some that are explicit, so that he still gets algorithm boosts

Elaborate?

I'm not really aware of the story behind this artist, I've seen his art here and there, but haven't seen or heard anything about him being a Nazi.

His abouts page seems to have some comments about that as well: https://stonetoss.com/about/

Oh damn, that's a lot of information. Had no idea

[-] FierroGamer@vlemmy.net 15 points 2 years ago

I just realized somebody needs to archive that post before it gets deleted somehow

[-] NotSpez@lemm.ee 12 points 2 years ago

Damn. Reddit really dod have its moments didnt it?

[-] someguy3@lemmy.ca 33 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

When you read his comics it's very apparent he's a white supremacist. Any single comic it's not clear (well maybe one) but the sentiment over time is very clear.

(The one that's clear iirc was his "retirement" comic, iirc he portrayed himself as the Terminator at the end of T2 being lowered into the molten steel. Instead of the thumbs up it was a Nazi salute.)

[-] simple@lemmy.mywire.xyz 9 points 2 years ago

Yeah I previously only saw a few of his comics on the occasional /r/comics post, so didn't really catch the overall theme.

@Odusei@lemmy.world linked more info on it. Today I learned.

[-] DrJenkem@lemmy.blugatch.tube 21 points 2 years ago

I mean, the vast majority of his comics are homophobic and/or transphobic.

[-] shoop@lemmy.ml 67 points 2 years ago

Lol except muskrat is a fake free speech absolutionist and will happily censor what he doesn't agree with

[-] errer@lemmy.world 61 points 2 years ago
[-] DrJenkem@lemmy.blugatch.tube 28 points 2 years ago

Should have removed his url, otherwise it's perfect.

[-] Duamerthrax@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 years ago

Zuck would just be contemplating the data harvesting. He's not really pro censorship, so long as the hateful stuff is buried in private fb communities. He couldn't be bothered to turn off aspects of his site regarding the Rohingya.

And I dont want to give off the wrong impression about my stance on censorship, but if you're curating social media content via a algorithm, you have more responsibility regarding the consequences then someone who's just providing hosting.

[-] skillissuer@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

he's fine with hateful content as long as it makes line go up

[-] Crunchypotat77@vlemmy.net 55 points 2 years ago

Ah yes. The platform of "less censorship" where the dictator randomly says that he will treat "cis" as a slur.

Not whimsical censorship at all.

Lol.

Also bans the jet tracker account after having publicly admitted that he won't ban it.

[-] xamboni@vlemmy.net 24 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Those sentences seem unfinished. It’s more like:

“What if there was less censorship (but only on people I agree with)?”

“What if there was way more censorship (but only on people I disagree with)?”

[-] SilentStorms@lemmy.fmhy.ml 23 points 2 years ago

Not that I'm a fan of either of them, but the idea that moderation=censorship is so braindead.

Also pebbleyeet is a nazi.

[-] Maxb0tbeep 13 points 2 years ago

what if there was a platform with community hosted servers that individually decided how content was moderated, allowing users to choose what they want to see?

[-] Nusm@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Nah, that would never work! 🤣

[-] sulungskwa@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago

I dont know, doesn't like, blocking the entire site to people without twitter accounts count as censorship?

[-] at_an_angle@lemmy.one 10 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)
[-] OreoCat@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago

Pebbleyeet is a nazi

[-] Kalkaline@lemmy.one 5 points 2 years ago

What if we just let people run their own servers and allow what they want within the limits of the law and let them share that with who they want?
